Bottled. Amber coloured. Clear. Beige small head. Sweet and fruity aroma with some distinct flowery notes. Flavour is a little less sweet. Dominated by flowers and herbs with some light caramel notes. Quite pleasant and easy to go to. Medium bodied with a quite smooth mouthfeel. Is balanced. Ends on a light bitter caramelly note. Dark red colored, little light brown head. Aroma is excellent: nuts, sweetness, caramel, vinous tones and coffee in aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is not as good as aroma: mild nuts, caramel and hops. Aftertaste has some dryness and caramel. rauchbier (3880) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JUL 28, 2002
UPDATED: JAN 23, 2007 Bottle, from Sainsburys. Deep bronze, thin shortlived white head and gentle condition. Sweet toffee and caramel in the nose, slightly smoky and with spirity esters as it warms, good earthy hoppiness in the mouth with some sweet caramel and a gentle roasted bitterness which lingers into the finish with a low caramel sweetness and a touch of hop bitterness at the end.

A reasonable try at imitating a lovely but rare, certainly in Britain style.Red appearance with a rather thin hoppy taste.
Suppose we should appreciate a brewery that is prepared to be different and a supermarket chain that is prepared to move away from the ordinary. DanielBrown (4500) - Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 13, 2004
Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Beautiful red hue, with a tasty caramel aroma, with a slightly sour malt edge. Head quickly b’huggers off. Thin body with a metallic quality on top of a lagery malt body. A very sweet, sugary quality. Rich, yet lagery; good, yet rubbish. Not bad - perhaps it’s just not my favourite style. Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 16, 2006
Bottle. Ruby colour with a off-white head. Sweet caramel malty, fruity, light hoppy aroma and taste, light dry. Medium body with a light sweet finish. yngwie (17038) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 7, 2006
Bottled. Copper-colored, still beer with a small beige head. Caramel, sugar and fruits in the aroma. The flavor is caramel, lightly roasted malt and sweet. Thin but sweet body. Decent beer. (060801) NosirIwont (2516) - Frederikssund, DENMARK - SEP 11, 2006
Bottle. Pours a clear amber-brown with a fluffy beige/brown head. Slightly sweetish aroma with lots of hops on a malty background. As it warms it gets more sweet and fruity notes appear. Sweetish flavour. Fruity, malt. Feels a bit thin. Finish is rather thin at first, but a mild bitterness kicks in after a while. Dry, grassy and lingering hoppy notes. But pretty boring still. This beer starts out okay but ends kinda dull. 11-09-06.
