"Porter style Ale. Chocolate and beer! Are we Mad? We’d rather say passionate. We marry the soothing flavour of this complex malt barley grist with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a beer for your more self-indulgent moments. Great for lazy afternoons or long evenings, it is best served chilled with your feet up, watching the sun go down. Like we say – chilled."
"A silky-smooth suppertime beer, created using dark malts and chocolate. Pronounced vanilla notes fuse the chocolate and malts together to give a rich, warming, flavour that also works well as a complement to fruity desserts, summer puddings and autumn berries."

Bottle. Dark brown with a creamy light brown head. Aroma and taste: dark and milk chocolate, roasted malt, cream. Medium-bodied, smooth and almost moussy. Well, basically only chocolate, but that works for me.

Didn’t like this one at all. An overly bitter chocolate flavour throughout that seems to leave a lingering bitterness (but not the good kind) in your mouth.

33 cl bottle. Black colour with a nice creamy light brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, roasted malt and some coffee. Flavour has plenty of bitter chocolate, coffee, barley, roasted malts. Slightly smoked.

Bottle 33cl. A dark beer with medium head ans good lacing. Nose is on bitter dark chocolate and yeast. Aroma is dry, very intense on bitter dark chocolate, dark malt, huge bitterness, very long aftertaste. Bit surprizing beer but interesting and rich of flavors but a bit too bitter en less creamy.

If only the taste lived up to the aroma. Smell is an amazing deep dark intense chocolate, like chocolate sauce, but even better. Colour is dark but reddish when held up to the light and a little foamy head. In a tulip glass this had a crown of healthy looking effervescent bubbles at the base of the glass. Taste is then surprisingly understated. Probably a good thing with a chocolate beer as it is not sickly at all. Very much a balanced malty ale with a chocolate flavour.

Got a bottle in the Hattons and from Uto Beer. Brown red colour. Milk chocolate taste. Quite nice, nothing over powering.

Bottle at home, shared with Lyoli as the weekend draws to its end. Pours caramel-brown with a modest, white cream head. Dark, hard cocoa malts on the nose. Fairly sweet flavor, lots of chocolate syrup and vanilla, some fine, roasty bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with tons of vanilla, baking cocoa, mild warmth. Some faint earth and wood. Good stuff.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Black pour with a bubbly tan head that faded to nowt. Big sweet candy choccy laden aroma with some roasted character. Quite lively carbonation. Flavour was a slight let down after the nose. Again, dark chocolate and some roast were evident with some coffee notes, but there was a definite lack of depth here. Ok, but lacking real substance.

pours clear dark brown with a decent head. dark chocolate malts, hint of vanilla for sure. smooth taste of cocoa. was hoping for a more bitter punch from the real dark chocolate and the hops. quite easy going, nothing too flashy. plain goodness.
