"Porter style Ale. Chocolate and beer! Are we Mad? Wed rather say passionate. We marry the soothing flavour of this complex malt barley grist with a hint of dark chocolate. This is a beer for your more self-indulgent moments. Great for lazy afternoons or long evenings, it is best served chilled with your feet up, watching the sun go down. Like we say chilled."
"A silky-smooth suppertime beer, created using dark malts and chocolate. Pronounced vanilla notes fuse the chocolate and malts together to give a rich, warming, flavour that also works well as a complement to fruity desserts, summer puddings and autumn berries."

Bottled. Clear brown color, short head. Aroma of milk chocolat rather than dark chocolat, koetjesreep, some malt. Milky chocolat taste, quite sweet. Not the best of porters. Clearly lacks some roasted malt or coffee. The chocolat makes it way too sweet.

Black colored brew. Chocolate aroma. Flavor has chocolate, malts and nuts. A bit dull porter, but still enjoyable.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2013 Re-rate - not sure why I was so down on this before. Great chocolatey aroma, good chocolate character with malt, vanilla and a surprisingly dry finish. Nice beer.

Thanks to mat7215 for the bottle. Pours a transparent brown with a small head. The aroma screams chocolate with little else there. The flavor has bitter chocolate, spice wood roast and marshmallow. Not bad, but a touch thin.

Bottle, thanks again Harry. Aroma of artificial milk chocolate and some dark chocolate. Looks as dark brown as the coffee porter without the great head. Taste - artificial dark chocolate taste, does not mix well at all with some bitterness from the dark malt and thin body, too fizzy for this style as well. Not a pleasant linger. I made the mistake of having the coffee porter first - this is not even in the same class. A disappointment.

Pours dark brown and clear. Thin head with low retention. Aroma is very sweet with strong notes if chocolate. That is one hell of a chocolate beer. The palate is dominated by chocolate. Mouth feel is a little thin. It tastes good but is pretty one dimensional.

Bottle. Thanks to hobbersr for the share! Pours medium to dark clear brown, thin off-white head, no lacing. Quite soft carbonation. Nose is underripe berries, chocolate, fudge, nuts, light sweet tobacco character also. Flavours of cocoa, tootsie rolls, ash, very chocolatey, especially milk chocolate. Some fruit and tea here also. Finish starts chocolate, fades to tea. Interesting.

Bottle [330ml]. Pours a clear ruby-brown with an average size foamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, light roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Flavour of cocoa upfront, slightly sweet, followed by some nuttiness, light roasted malt and again, just a hint of coffee. Bodys thin for the style and under-carbonated. Just OK, I much preferred their Coffee Porter.

Bottle at CHancey SMiths- Deep opaque brown, pours a mocha froth that is quite foamy. Looks great. Nose of roasted malts, milk and dark chocolate, some coffee, and a hint of hops. Tastes of bitter dark chocolate, sweet milk chocolate, espresso, and fresh hops. Creamy lingering bitter finish that pleases. Great!

330 ml bottle. Lots of chocolate in the aroma and taste. I was expecting a thicker mouthfeel and less carbonation. Still, a decent porter that probably goes well with a slice of cake.
