Meantime Brew Master, Alastair Hook, has spent 20 years planning the quintessential English lager. His reasoning is simple. The great European lager brewers use very soft water and neutral yeasts to ensure that only the flavours of their locally grown malt and hops come to the fore. East Anglia is home to the worlds finest malting barley and Kent is home to some of the worlds best hops. Midway between the two, London is ideally placed to bring them together in a straightforward, clean, long-matured, unpasteurised lager, where all you can taste is malt and hop.

Looks like a lager, quite light and nice short white head. Smell has some hint of iron. Hmm, Im not sure if that is good sign. Taste is light, too watery I would say. Aroma has basement, with tiny bit of sugar on top. This beer fails to be pleasing because it does made to be too mediocore.

Bottle. Pours bubbly clear yellow with a moderate, fast disappearing white head. Aroma is malt and straw. Flavor is somewhat malty and sweet, with grass and straw notes, and a slightly hoppy finish. Not bad for the style.

Clear light yellow with no head. No aroma. Slightly musty/dirty lager flavor, slightly bitter aftertaste. Not very special.

Very pale yellow. Not much head. Aroma is grass, bubblegum, maybe a hint of banana. Medium body. Barely any flavor at all. A bit mineral on the finish, but thats pretty much all thats here.

330ml bottle. Pours a light hazy gold, with a quickly diminishing white head. Very floral on the nose with some sweet bread and grain aromas. Mouth feel is light and a bit watery, but has a nice hop finish leaving a light tingle on the tongue. Refreshing and crisp enough to enjoy on a hot day.

Butelka 330ml. Jasnozloty slomkowy kolor. Piana biala srednia szybko opada do zera. Slodkie kukurydziane nuty i tyle....ani w smaku ani w zapachu nie prezentuje niczego specjalnego. Kiepskie

This was a pretty light lager. Poured straw, very light watery mouthfeel. Tasted of light malt and finished with a moderate hop bitterness.

Tap at The Three Greyhounds. Clear golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and slightly floral, grassy spicy, hoppy aroma. Taste is slightly grainy, floral hoppy overtones with some grassy spiciness, minimal residual sweetness.

Poured out of a bottle. Hoppy aroma and more hops than a usual lager in the taste. Nice golden colour. Well carbonated. Slightly bitter taste with a hint of straw and a dry finish.
