Comments: Musty, bready, sweet and toasty generic beer with a tendency toward stickiness.
Deep amber brown beer. Aroma of dark chocolate. Light coffee and toffee with a fairly assertive herbal backnote. Flavour is full of black licorice, earthy herbs and a soft nuttiness. Further tasting brings out more rich licorice character. Hardly a vienna, but it is pretty tasty. FatPhil (16102) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 25, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2008 Draught (Greenwich Union, London)
Slightly sour malty aroma. Rubbery or marmite taste, a bit fizzy. No finish apart from the rubber. Svesse (8595) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 11, 2007
(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 10 Aug 2007) Dark brownish colour with ruby notes, brief beige head. Malty nose with chocolate and dried fruit (raisins, prunes). Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, balanced malt sweetness and some spicy bitterness in the finish. Actually quite good try at the vienna style.
