COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
330ml bottles and Keg. Formerly known as Meantime Vienna. Also includes Cascade hops as well as those mentioned below.
100 years ago Pilseners, Müncheners and Viennese lagers formed a trio of major lager styles brewed in central Europe. Gradually the lighter Pilseners swept all before them and Vienna style beers fell into an undeserved decline.
Traditional Bavarian Perle and Spalter hops and delicately coloured malts produce a deep copper coloured beer with a firm fruity caramel aroma, a smooth complex malt character and a long crisp clean finish. This beer is slow fermented and cold-matured over long periods to ensure perfect balance and gentle natural carbonation. Union goes with bread and wheat based foods such as pizza and pasta or more mid-weight dishes like duck or noodle stir-fry.

Bottle at the Pumphouse bar, Sydney. Was a decent beer, but was expecting more. Quite malt heavy, with a small hop profile. Plenty of earthy flavours with a strong caramel/toffee sweetness.

Clear dark brown with a tan head. Strong Rye bread aroma, a bit of earth, toffee and a burned toastedness. Kind of feels a bit stale, like cold coffee and burned toast with butter. Medium body, not much bitterness lends to the smoothness of the mouthful and lets the bready malt character shine nicely. A soft cocoa and herbal flavour comes through lightly. The finish is bready and a touch sweet. A really nice vienna, better in the flavour and body than the aroma.

scanovajr (695) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - NOV 8, 2010
Bottled. An amber beer with a medium creamy beige head. Aroma is malty with caramel notes. Taste is also very malty and sweet, notes of caramel, bread, toffee. Good beer

donfardz64 (538) - Wellington, New Zealand, NEW ZEALAND - APR 13, 2010
Pours vibrant red, off white head. Nice toasty biscuity malt aroma. Flavour is all about the malt - which is biscuity. Pretty much no bitterness, thin body. Clean finish. Clean but boring.

Bottle. Clear amber. Off white head. Medium body and carbonation. Sweetish. Caramel malts. Crisp. Mild to medium bitterness.

Pours dark copper to brown, almost no head. Taste is malty, sweet, some caramel and a moderated herbal hoppiness in the finish. Quite light and restrained but pleasant enough.

Satyroneto (379) - BRAZIL - MAR 10, 2014
---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

PeterA (342) - EL SALVADOR - FEB 9, 2007
Draft at Brew Wharf. Weak aroma of caramel. Brown/amber color with very little head. Caramel flavors, overly sweet. The mouthfeel was over carbonated. An ok, but not a great beer.

3.5
vidmidia (286) - Vila Velha, BRAZIL - NOV 3, 2014

33cl bottle at Haket 23/4, thanks to gnoff & (non-rater) Micke. Clear red with little head. Some wood in aroma, burnt, fruits. Tastes very little. Smooth, high acidity.
