COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
330ml bottles and Keg. Formerly known as Meantime Vienna. Also includes Cascade hops as well as those mentioned below.
100 years ago Pilseners, Müncheners and Viennese lagers formed a trio of major lager styles brewed in central Europe. Gradually the lighter Pilseners swept all before them and Vienna style beers fell into an undeserved decline.
Traditional Bavarian Perle and Spalter hops and delicately coloured malts produce a deep copper coloured beer with a firm fruity caramel aroma, a smooth complex malt character and a long crisp clean finish. This beer is slow fermented and cold-matured over long periods to ensure perfect balance and gentle natural carbonation. Union goes with bread and wheat based foods such as pizza and pasta or more mid-weight dishes like duck or noodle stir-fry.

Keg at the Brew Wharf, London
Beautiful amber color; creamy head. Nice malty aroma, almost fruity. Medium body (less malty than expected), lacking any complexity, very simple final as well.

Keg at the Beer House, Paddington station, 05/03/15. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bready, pale malt, light citric rinds, straw. Taste comprises sweet elements, bready malt, caramel, light floral notes. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, semi drying close. Ok lager, refreshing after a 3 mile run!

Keg at Brew Wharf, Borough. Always happy to go against the grain and so I find myself doing so on this one. Dark brown, chestnut colour, lasting light beige head. Really nice malty aroma with red fruits and toffee. These flavours carry on to the finish which is very drying and gives good balance to the toffee.

Draught at Market Porter, London. Amber beer with an offwhite head. Roasted malt aroma. Hoppy flavor, roasted, cocoa and some spicy notes.

Bottled 330ml (BZ, no BB found)
Deep ruby color, decent beige head. Cardboardish, a bit vegetably aroma with light caramelly notes. Light to medium-bodied. Light malty-nutty flavor with light hoppy finish. Bready, slightly caramelly, Easy going amber lager, probably works best with greasy food.

yngwie (17234) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 22, 2008
Bottle at Haket, Gothenburg. A clear, dark amber beer with a nice, beige off-white head. Grainy aroma with toffee. Grainy and sweet flavor with caramel and earthy hops. Medium body. Caramel and some cooked vegetables in the finish. Drinkable indeed, but a really boring beer. On the other hand, maybe the other beers I had the same afternoon messed it up. (080710)

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2008 Draught (Greenwich Union, London) Slightly sour malty aroma. Rubbery or marmite taste, a bit fizzy. No finish apart from the rubber.

Tap @ Draft House, Tower Bridge - London. RBESG 2011. Pours unclear golden with a small creamy head. Grainy and grassy. Really dry. Medium and smooth body. A bit of caramel.

3.2
imdownthepub (15325) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2009
Bottled, 330ml from Sainsbury, Banbury. Brown, red beer with very slight head. Quite a thinnish palate to this one, there is a roasty, malty flavour, but it doesn’t fill the mouth particularly, then there is a sweetish caramel, toffee note adding a little richness, the hop is background only, but in the end it does come together as a drinkable beer so reasonable marks.

2.8
Theis (15151) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2011
Draught (RBESG 2011, London) at Draft House Tower Bridge. Clear amber - white head. Light fruity, toasted, light bitterness, cocoa, dusty, light chocolate notes, roasted notes.
