Very thick-creamy yellowish head over dark amber beer. Cakey nose, thick malts, ambrée, caramel; quite rich and powerful nose; hints at orange(zeste) but generally quite sweet. Seems a bit of ureum too, but blending in the general complexity. Caramel flavour, not overly sweet, with some undistinguished hops, but mainly determined by very rich and selected malts of various colouring, making it way more complex than expected of a less than 5 ABV beer. Some burning in the MF, pretty thick texture without becoming porridge-y or overly sweet by too many restsugars. After some drinking, the Vienna characteristics establish themselves more clearly, but it remains a beer with some Barley wine aspirations; which does not prevent it from being very well made indeed. Bottle. Low but lasting creamy off-white head. Clear dark amber body. Sweet malt caramel syrup aroma. Higly carbonated roasted malt caramel flavor with a suitable amount of hops bitterness and a long aftertaste. daniele (9532) - ITALY - OCT 28, 2011

Deep amber brown beer. Aroma of dark chocolate. Light coffee and toffee with a fairly assertive herbal backnote. Flavour is full of black licorice, earthy herbs and a soft nuttiness. Further tasting brings out more rich licorice character. Hardly a vienna, but it is pretty tasty. gunnar (9390) - Sandnes, NORWAY - FEB 4, 2011
Bottle. Pours deep amber with a big nice looking off-white frothy head. Rich malty aroma. Taste is moderate sweet barley, with a crisp fresh hoppy addition towards the end. Quite good.

On tap - Brew Wharf Borough London. An amber brown coloured beer with an unusual aroma where straw and diacetyl combine. The taste is odd with grass and hay notes. Very unusual on this ocassion. Svesse (8731) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 11, 2007
(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 10 Aug 2007) Dark brownish colour with ruby notes, brief beige head. Malty nose with chocolate and dried fruit (raisins, prunes). Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, balanced malt sweetness and some spicy bitterness in the finish. Actually quite good try at the vienna style. Tap. Clear redish amber color. Medium size, thick white head, stays. Looks fizzy, but I suspect dirty glass. Hops, malty, sweet and faint iron, jam and apples in aroma. Caramel, apples, hops, hay, strudel, sweetish taste. Short buttery bitterness in aftertaste. I like it. Finn (7916) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 27, 2006
Draught at The Beer Wharf London SE1 16 Sep 06. Served as Meantime Union. Brown colured. A tiny head. Hoppy aroma. Some caramellish flavour with malty hints. OK to food. Sigmund (7818) - Tau, NORWAY - NOV 28, 2011
330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 4.9%. Amber colour, large head, slightly off-white. Strong sweetish aroma of malts and stale orange marmalade. The flavour is not too sweet, biscuity and hoppy notes, hints of caramel and some fruit. Not too bad, but I think Meantime preferably should stick to ales.
