Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - MAR 1, 2008
Very dark ruby red with a small, creamy head. The aroma has a light sweetness, notes of malt and smoke. The flavour has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt, smoke, fruit, syrup, light citrus and the finish is dry with a light bitterness and a rather pronounced smoky note. This nice brew has a rather full body!

JorisPPattyn (10004) - Ursel, BELGIUM - DEC 31, 2007
Small greige head, fed by well-carbonated black beer with a mauve shine. Very little aroma at first - wet cardboard. Then some roasted/burnt malts appear, as well as dried berries and old coffee powder. Very expressed (-o?) coffee taste, even aftertaste of stale coffee-and-cream. Quite bitter edge, faintly hoppy, and a bit smokey. Liquid brown sugar solution. Medium bodied at best, bit slick. Rather light porter, not very assertive.

Skinnyviking (9570) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 14, 2008
Bottle. High creamy good looking light brown head. Very dark red almost black body. Roasted barley malt aroma with coffee notes. Coffee also dominates the flavor which does not have much hops bitterness and feels creamy in the mouth and has vineous notes. Low carbonation, long coffee aftertaste.

mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2012
[4184-20111210] 500mL bottle. Mild wintery toasted grains aroma. Clear, dark amber body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Mild bandaid grains flavour has a lot of peaty leaf mould. Medium body. Tasty, mild English feel to it. (7/3/6/4/14) 3.4

maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - NOV 18, 2007
Bottled. A black beer with very little head. The aroma is very smoky burnt. Like a winter fireside. The taste is roasty with deep dark fruits. Plenty of burnt malts. Very nice and a suitable beer with the snow falling outside.

downender (8660) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 19, 2007
Bottle from Sainsburys. Near black with a short-lived tan head. Roasted coffee aroma with a dark fruit flavours and a slightly dry finish. Easy, smooth drinking but a bit lacking in character.

3.4
Svesse (8601) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - AUG 31, 2009
(Bottle) Dark reddish brown colour with lasting, frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, dried fruit, chocolate, some smoke and a touch of soy sauce. Malty, roasted taste with dark fruit, chocolate, coffee, dark bread and a touch smoke. Some confusing citric notes, that seem out of place. Medium body, rather dry. Slightly out of balance but still a nice beer.

Hansen (8595) - Assentoft, DENMARK - JAN 20, 2008
Dark brown and clear. Has a real fine head, off-white and lasting. Aroma is sweet with notes of some acidity. Caramel. Flavor is heavy sweet.

50 cl bottle @ Home. Rated on 21.01.2011
Aroma is somewhat malty with roastiness, some coffee and chocolate. Flavour is also somewhat malty with coffee, chocolate and hints of nuts. The bottle says that this is ale. A porter or a schwartzbier? I cannot tell.
