Moretum (242) - Vienna, AUSTRIA, AUSTRIA - JAN 20, 2018
Dunkle, bräunliche Farbe mit großer, beiger Schaumkrone. Malziger Geruch mit etwas Röstmalz und Karamell. Geschmacklich Röstmalz, etwas Karamell und Honig sowie dunkle Früchte. Erstaunlich gut.

Saeglopur (2471) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - MAY 13, 2017
Draught at the brewpub.
Dark copper body, with a big, stable, creamy, light beige head.
Aroma of toast, dark fruits, caramel, dark bread.
Full taste of toast, cocoa, dark bread, dark fruits, some caramel, even subtle coffee.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a quite lively carbonation.
Finishes medium roasty, toasty, bready, a bit sweet, fruity, a bit hoppy.

Really nice. Full bodied, aromatic and well balanced, with lovely toasty and dark fruit notes and just enough sweetness and roastiness. Pretty above average Dunkles for Austrian means, very quaffable stuff.

Werckmeister (3483) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - SEP 30, 2015
500ml flip-top bottle at home shared with gf. as Medl Bräu Doppelmalz, 5,2% 13% Stammwürze. BB 24.10.2015. brown color, small off-white head. smells of bread, caramel, plums, tobacco. nice smell. medium body, tastes very flat / almost no carbonation, tastes rather watery without the carbonation. tastes of bread, caramel, tobacco, plums. finishes with plums and tobacco. overall would be decent (i assume), but my bottle was quite under-carbonated. overall nice smell, but the lack of carbonation makes this rather boring.

Quack-Duck (9540) - Down South, GERMANY - MAY 2, 2014
draught at the brewpub. Brown colour, beige head. Malty with caramel, honey, lots of roasted malts. Shy hoppy touch, also slight-y overcarbonated.

ogivlado (8420) - Zagreb, CROATIA - DEC 7, 2011
Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown coloured, small beige head, light roasty nose. Light roasted malt, brown sugar and toffee with hint of over-riped fruits in the finish. Not so typical but pleasant dunkel.

joergen (29789) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Clear red brown coloured with a small beige head. Malty aroma of caramel and rye rbead with notes of dried fruits. Malty flavour of caramel, rye bread and dried fruits with notes of hops. Hoppy finish.

yespr (49162) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 18, 2010
From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a small, creamy and tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt and fruity. Flat malt and overripe fruity flavoured. Subdued bitterness and medium dry malty into the far finish. Lasting roasted malt impression with a hint of liqourice.

MiP (16082) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - NOV 21, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. Dark brown colour, seems hazy. Small light brown head. The flavour is malty, faintly roasted, with some fruitiness in the finish, caramelly, almost even vinous.

Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 8, 2007
Huge tight beige head atop a dark brown hazy pour. Rather caramelly flavours with prunes and raisin nuances + various dried fruits. Quite sweet, not unlike a good date square. I find it very concentrated for a rather light lager. A mild nuttiness peaks through in mouth. Full-bodied as well, which enhances the dessert feel. Very soft hops, but the sweetness was not high enough to demand more to have a balanced brew. Toasty aspects keep it under control. Rather foamy, smooth palate. Good stuff in an atmospheric pub.

Gazza (727) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2004
Amazingly, an almost tasteless dark beer - how is this possible? It is mid brown in colour and has hints of burnt sugar and toffee in the taste, but they don’t really develop into full-blown flavours. (Draught at Medl Bräu, Wien)
