The Off Dry Classic Mead can be accurately described as a BIG mead. The nose is clean, somewhat floral with just a hint of something sweet. The taste is bold, rich and complex. The earthy tones warm the palate and both contrast and compliment the more floral notes to the nose. A hint of sweetness is evident on the finish.

Pours clear yellow, slightly hazy thanks to Aaron for the pour, aroma brings notes of honey, dry wine like notes, hints of earth, vanilla and some slight floral notes. Taste is a bit of sweet honey, some slight alcohol notes, going into hints of vanilla, oak, grass, some slight earth. Not bad, not tons of flavor but easy to drink.

Bottle @ Dans house. Slightly hazy, light yellow appearance. Rashly a light honey, white wine, slightly dry finish. Light apple fruity, easy drinking, sweet, fairly dry, honey flavor. Easy drinking.

750 ml bottle 2010 vintage. Clear pale yellow. Aroma was lots of floral honey and alcohol. Flavor was hot alcohol, some acidic honey and herbal spice with the smallest amount of sweetness. Light body with a dry, burning finish. This smelled great but tasted pretty harsh, age this one for years.

375ml bottle, 2009. A lightly hazy yellow color, not exactly the most visually stunning, I suppose. Aroma is a bit musky, and theres definitely some alcohol present. Flavor comes out as rather acidic and rather thin, with not a lot of honey sweetness present. Ive had tasty dry meads, but this one just wasnt that impressive, honestly.

Bottle 06, from BFC, thanks jake.... Pours a clearish yellow no head. Aroma of alcohol and some honey. Taste is a burning alcohol, honey with an over all sweetness. Texture is dry but a little slick. I only drank about 3oz of the bottle, its just not my style.

The aroma is all honey, sweetish and flowery. It is deceptive as the taste is much more complex. Honey up front, long lasting dry oak finish. Solid.

This one was a cloudy yellow color. Some honey and hay in the aroma. The flavor contains honey with a bit of spice present. The palate is a little on the thin side. The alcohol really shows up in the aftertaste. Overall this was an ok mead.

2004 vintage: Pours a transparent pale champaign golden with thin legs. Aroma of fresh floral honey with a touch of citrus and clover. Body starts semi-dry as the name suggests with some floral grassy notes and honey complexity. Finishes dry and warming. A pretty decent, crisp mead, but I like a little more sweetness.
