A pleasant but subtle smelling brew. Pours copper with white head with poor lacing. Taste is great, with very little of the watery taste associated with hot weather lagers. Flavor is a darn decent balance of malts with some bitter hops on the finish. Best local Hawaiian beer I have had so far. Capa (3325) - Kitsap, Washington, USA - NOV 3, 2007
Labled as Tsunami Lager. It still suprises me what you can find at some of these small liquor store in Japan. Hazy copper orange with a finger of white head. Aroma is toasted caramel malts, some earth tones, some herbs, pleasent. Flavor isn’t as nice as the aroma, but it’s not bad. Toasted malts, some sweet caramel notes, and some earth. Finishes with a little hop bitterness. This beer proved to be much better than I was expecting. BückDich (5464) - McCall, Idaho, USA - SEP 26, 2007
Gold color, thick white head and light lacing. The nose is bright with some light earthy hops, a bit of EKG or something noble and a nice light malt sweetness, a bit cleaner than most, with a light herby note. The flavor is nice and malty with a light toasty quality and a fairly strong hop bitterness and a bright sweet finish, a decent body and a herby mouthfeel from the hops. Decent and flavorful, even for a regular lager. Good. awwshiz (76) - USA - AUG 19, 2007
Found this on tap in Waikiki. Interesting, it was smooth yet highly carbonated. So be prepared to burp a lot. Zinister (1423) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2007
Had at Lobar in beautiful Crested Butte. Don’t have my ratings, but I recall the overwhelming aroma and taste of vegetables....not my cup of beer.

Sampled from the six-pack I bought at the brewey in Hilo, poured into a pint glass. The beer was clear with an orange-amber color and a small, bubbly, white head that was quickly gone. The aroma was of floral and herbal hops with some maltyness and a "cold" scent. The beer was somewhat wet and oily with very flat carbonation and was very smooth. The taste was a bit sour and bitter, only light sweetness. Probably my least favorite of the Mehana brews. fordest (2470) - Santee/San Diego, California, USA - MAY 29, 2007
12 oz bottle on board Hawaiian Airlines. Surprising amber color with a decent head. But that is where the love stopped. Aromas were rather vegital. The Flavors were similar with a sourness that I just didn’t like. steview (1037) - Petaluma, California, USA - NOV 19, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 28, 2007 picked up a couple singles at the local liquor shop / actually not that bad! it reminds me of brooklyn lager, but this doesn’t have that brooklyn piney pop--it seems to be based around its maltiness; floral, caramel aroma; slightly fruity, malty and nutty taste... a just a smooth little lager that’s a refreshing break from the cheap japanese macros that litter this little island of okinawa to no end! wooh! / SAMPLE 070528: sweet and tangy, fruity, with a little toffee and not much else; downrated. On tap at the brewery. Pretty bland beer. Extremely light-bodied with few grain or hops flavors. Fairly one-dimensional unfortunately. Another obligatory and uninspiring light lager. jhwarfield (125) - USA - JUL 22, 2006
Just okay. pours golden with nice carbonation. decent hops flavor.
