500 ml bottle. BB 18/02/14. From bierzwerg.de.
Clear golden colour with a small white head. Malt, mild vegetables and some... in the aroma. The flavour is malt, saltiness, mild vegetables and some dryness. Quite bland. Really weak smokiness. It’s no teuflisch gut nor rauchig zart... unfortunately.

0,5 l bottle. Golden and clear, medium CO2, small white head. Starts a little bit sour but even smoked and grainy. Full body. Very drinkable.

Grima (2506) - Merzkirchen, RLP, GERMANY - APR 18, 2013
bbe date has passed for 2 months. Pours strong golden yellow with reddish tinge and soapy white head. Smells hoppy-fruity with no smokiness. Starts slight smokey, with some bitter malt notes and fruity hops. Finish is very smokey with some ashtray flavor. Disappointing!

kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - MAR 23, 2013
The head is medium, the body yellow and light. It smells a bit smoky, malty. The taste is less smoky, malt, and very watery. Could be more intensive. 8/7/7/8/10/7

Bottle. Thanks Hart. Pours a hale golden orange with a medium, off-white head. With a name and label like that you’d expect some strong smokiness. Unfortunately, the aroma is quite weak. There’s light smoke there as well as graininess, but it’s all quite faint. A touch of butter or ham. Taste begins semi-dry with grain and light fruitiness. Turns a bit sweeter as it goes on with the grain becoming stronger and some grass and herbs coming in on the finish. The smokiness is very light. Palate is quite light and there’s a lot of carbonation. A bit of a disappointment really if you’re expecting rauch.

(bottle) pours a clear deep golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of herbal hops and apricots, slightly perfumed, with a hint of smoked ham and light cinnamon. flavour is mostly delicately smoked ham and light orange zest, starchy pale malts, dark rye bread and a medium-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. medium-bodied with lively carbonation

Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminish head. Moderate malty and sweetish aroma, light caramel with faint smokiness. Body is light to medium, malty - lightly grainy and sweetish flavor with light caramel and faint hoppyness. Finish is short to average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel, faint smokiness and faint hoppyness. For those Schlenkerla is too much.

3.2
Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - NOV 24, 2012
Hopfenwürziger Geruch, der nur andeutungsweise Rauchspuren zeigt. Mild rauchiger Beginn. Mitte dann angenehm würzig und moderat rauchig. Süßlich, mild bitterwürzig abgehend. Gut trinkbar - das Raucharoma könnte aber stärker sein.

Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - NOV 19, 2012
It’s golden with a creamy head. The aroma is mild with weak notes of smoke, fruit and malt. The flavor is moderately sweet/sweet with meaty smoked notes, malt and a touch of fruit. Very boring.
