Alengrin (5635) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
Dubbel with chestnut colour and thick, stable head; malty profile, nutty, caramel, dried fruits, sweetish with aromatic hops, medium bitter finish. Okay but not that exciting.

Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - AUG 9, 2005
Sweet and malty nose. Brown colored body, small off-white head. Falvor is quite malty, some sweetness.

Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 30, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful chestnut coloured with a warm, red glow. Creamy head that leaves a pretty lacework. Weak caramelish nose. Lightly, sweetish caramel in the flavours. Soft, sweetish and lightly vinous - no real bitterness. 290705

joergen (28964) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUL 30, 2005
Bottled. Hazy yellow coloured with an off white head. Acidic aroma of malts, caramel and dried fruits. Sweet flavour of dried fruits with acidic notes and notes of caramel.

3.6
lachesis (757) - St Idesbald, BELGIUM - JUN 7, 2005
Nice brown color with fine warm orange shine and with a creamy nutty brown head. Intens malty aroma with a light burned accent and hints of nuts and a forrest like eartyness. On the middelpallet there are some forrest-berries accents and a slight sweet touch. The taste is malty, light-sweet and has a fine bitterness of nut-peel and touches of of the burned crust of milk bread and toffee.

JorisPPattyn (10062) - BELGIUM - JUN 4, 2005
Yellow-brown head, fast gone; cloudy orange-brown beer. Strange nose, reminiscent of deep-frying fat & pickles; must be some acid here - fatty acids? Dark malts obvious. Sweet and sourish taste; grains, wood, point of (I think lactic) acid; bready finish. Sticky MF, well bodied, certain tartness. OK dubbel-brown, just not very exciting.

3.3
caesar (7170) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2004
Hazy cola-brown color, short but lasting head, fair lacing. Loads of dense particles floating around. Weak aroma of roasted malts, some coffee, rye, yeast. Taste is roasted malts, port-like almost (although it is BB june '05), quite sweet. Slightly sticky palate.

3.6
rauchbier (3926) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2004
Bottle conditioned. Chestnut brown with a fog of yeast, thin but lasting cream head and moderate condition. Faintly oxidised and woody initially in the nose with some chocolate malt and yeasty dubbel notes as it warms. A little too soft, sweet and malt heavy in the mouth with hints of coconut and chalky yeast. Long lingering toffee malt and yeast in the finish.

2.8
bierkoning (13607) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - FEB 9, 2004
Orange brown color, cloudy. Honey aroma, sugary sweet flavor with some coffee bitterness and and yeast. Uninspiring.

3.2
skortila (5966) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - JAN 15, 2004
Strong sweet malty rye and bread aroma. Cloudy, brown coloured with a lasting thick head. Taste is quite malty again, rye, a hint of fruit and very sweet. More bitter in the finish. Very dry. Okay, but unbalanced.
