On tap at bier thirty. pours out a orangish golden topped with a sand head. Nose is big dank hops some tropical fruit sweetness. Taste is more of the dank hops some tangerine pineapple citrus and a nice malt bill to balance it out. luttonm (7086) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 24, 2016
Toronado Seattle at Melvin event. Cloudy light gold, lighter stringy head. Dry hop funk. Big but balanced. Resin, pine sap, bittering backbone. Very solid. Dry and bitter with robust juicy alcohol. Really nice. Getbetter (1033) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - MAR 13, 2016
From a tap at Apex.the pour is a clear pale yellow with averge c02 and white head.a medium body mango ipa. mcberko (20268) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 12, 2016
On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of piney hops upfront, with a single biscuity malt backbone. Flavour is quite fruity in the hop department, with piney hops, tropical fruits, and biscuity malt to back. Really well-balanced, with lots of fruitiness that doesn’t impart much sweetness. Excellent. Caskalefan (168) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAR 6, 2016
Are you kidding me? This nectar of the gods is the best thing yet from those iconoclasts Kirk and Jeremy at Melvin Brewing. This brew is an incredible marriage of tropically fruity hops, fresh pink grapefruit, and almost a gin-like quality. Impeccably balanced, and bursting with flavor, this work of art also manages to elicit delicate nuances while boasting a rich, and somewhat oily body. Absolutely top tier in the IPA genre.

On tap at apex. Pours a clear orange color with a medium white head. A big sweet fruity resin hop nose. The flavor is big sweet resin, oranges, bitterness. Very big. Hot. A slick smooth palate. Very nice. Bill Becker (2051) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - FEB 28, 2016
On draught at the Keg & Cork in Casper.
Pours a hazy light gold or colour, small head of foam, good lacing.
Tropical fruit burst out in splendor and glory with each and every whiff. Hoppy like crazy but doesn’t smell really bitter.
The taste is reflective to the smell. Tropical fruit with an also abundant presence of grapefruit; malty sweetness that you usually find in your better brewed DIPAs. A level of dankness that exceeded my expectations. A drinkability factor that. .well. .is off the charts. That strong, is it? My oh my.
Near perfect mouthfeel and I am completely blown away.
I 10 ounce glass is all I can handle at one sitting but wow!
No way the abv listed is correct. I believe it is 10.5. ajnepple (7555) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - FEB 28, 2016
10 oz pour at Tap and Handle. Listed at 9.8%. Clear orange appearance with an off-white head and light lacing. Big resinous hop aroma with notes of pine and citrus fruit. Similar flavor, big alpha hops with medium bitterness and a light malt sweetness. Medium to full body with a light dry finish. Good. NachlamSie (3617) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 15, 2016
10 oz at Asbury. I’m starting to realize Melvin has a case of the Lagunitas. That is, all their beers taste the same, but all their beers are awesome. Shaolin is a crystal clear light orange with perfect head formation. A blast of hops hit my nostrils with notes of papaya, orange, grapefruit, dank herb, and pine. Palate is pretty dry. Decent backend bitterness is present with loads of real hop flavor across the spectrum. Fantastic west coast style hoppy beer. Doodler (473) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 14, 2016
Draft at WOB .. A yellow, golden body with small white head... Orange zest and citrus backbone. Nice big hoppy flavor jumps out. Light on the palate, with just enough bitter hops to make the DIPA process noticible. Had the entire lineup and along with 2X4 - I must say - both are a crazy must try....
