Pours from bottle straw yellow with trace of head. Sweet bread aroma. Tastes lightly sweet. Palate light body, thin texture, lightly fizzy, astringent. Easy drinking pleasant lager suitable for year around. Skinnyviking (9550) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 27, 2007
Bottle. High withe creamy good looking and lasting head. Clear yellow body with a good deal of carbonation. Surprisingly distinct barley malt aroma with a bitte of apples (I guess). Barley malt flavor with a suitable amount of hops bitterness. Low carbonation and a relatively long aftertaste. Better than expected. wolfcarnival (286) - Oxford, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 13, 2016

Bottle at the Freedom Traveller, Rome. Pours clear yellow, effervescent with a fizzy, pure white head. Cereal and crispy corn on the nose. Nice flavor, some biscuity, buttery malts, straw, light bitterness, not too sweet. Light bodied with mouth filling, cloud-like carbonation. Decent finish, more crispy, cereal malts and some faint metallic zing. Not bad stuff.

Thanks go out to a couple dear friends who brought some beer back from Italy for me. This was one of them. A pale lager, Menabrea e Figli’s Bionda pours like lacey straw, sticking to the glass and sustaining a nice head. It smells of lager yeast primarily, and maybe some pale malt besides that. No hops to speak of, except a little grass that come through at the back of the palate upon tasting it. It’s sweet and citrusy, and the beer is light.
I don’t think the brewer’s necessarily wanted this beer to be anything overwhelming. They made a pale lager for easy drinking. I had it with pasta and enjoyed it for what it was. More flavor, aroma, substance, and a richer feel on the palate than many pale lagers. If you’re a fan of light beer, this bottle will not disappoint. That said, it’s hard to rate it much more highly, because the style itself doesn’t pack the same wallop as others - like Pale Ale - that I much prefer.
Cheers and thanks again, guys! weaselkenievil (1608) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2011
Bottle shared with my mate Matt watching United. Cheers. Clear gold with a medium white head. It’s just a pale lager but a fresh clean tasty one. Nicely carbonated, quite drinkable. Malts, grainy notes, some herbs, some fruits, hint of vanilla. I rate presents too high as I’m a nice guy ha ha! Sure it was nice enough tho...day time drinking with football can get messy Martin243 (1144) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2017
Live rating of a 66oml bottle from Gateshead TESCO served cold in a Moretti pint. Pale gold, thin white skim. Papery, peppery aroma. Flavour is strongly reminiscent of Becks. Quite gassy. johndoughty (5403) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 13, 2006
Golden apperance poured from a bottle with a classic label design.Sounds very promising but it turned out to be bland with no distinctive taste.Probably quite refreshing on a warm day but so is a cup of tea. Embrouille (2852) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 15, 2009
Bottled 33cl. It pours a clear pale golden beer with a lacing white head. Some saaz hops accompanied by boiled milk and pale malt in the nose. Strong bitterness in the taste with pineapple, carrot and dried apple showing up. Biscuity pale malts. Reminiscent of Budweiser Budvar. Long dry grassy hoppy finish. Surprisingly good with a great saaz hop profile.
