3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear pale golden with a fluffy white heas. Clean nose, touch of grass, touch of hop and a little alcohol present. The initial grassy flavour quickly gives way to a herb hop bitterness, with lemon and grapefruit to sweeten slightly before a smooth malt flavourand a touch pf vanilla to finish. Hop and vanilla are left lingering on the palate, very drinkable and quite complex despite average aroma.
Menabrea Strong 6.5%
A clear brassy gold color with a thick white head that lingered with some soapy lacing for a fairly respectable amount of time. The aroma is of a thick tangy graininess with some uric acid (piss) and herbal notes. Medium to full bodied but with a rough flavor: sharp booze, grains biscuit/caramel, hops like licking pine bark. Not sure what’s going on but by ramping up the alcohol they’ve thrown this beer out of whack and made it into a mess. I see that sometimes among Japanese macros too that make beers at 6+% for no discernible reason sometimes. The other two are ok but give the strong a miss unless you’re just planning to get drunk. Clear copper/amber with medium beige head. Aroma is lots of malts, some forest, cooked vegetables, awkward pine cone. Taste is lots of sweet roasted stuff and some smoke. Oily but not heavy. Finish has some ugly soap. I hate everything about this beer. VamboladeTolly (2123) - Tartu, ESTONIA - AUG 1, 2016
Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with small white head, stays. AromaÖ malty, hay, weak caramel, candy and toffee, pear. Taste: sweet, malty, weak caramel and candy, pear, weak sourness and bitterness balancing it nicely. Sweet finish. Thin´body. That beer suprised me. Sweet finish. Good strong lager. monk191 (2010) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 13, 2016
An ok beer overall. Pours an ugly clear yellow/grey. Smells of berries and malt. Taste is similar, blueberry, strawberry and malt. Had in the bottle. labeerinthum (904) - Milano, ITALY - MAY 25, 2016
Bottiglia.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2016 It is not the best beer. I bought it in Domodossola. For a Belgian beer, it is missing something. The taste is boring, sweet with the malt but there is not a pleasant sensation, watery and almost no hop. The body is yellow lager and the carbonation is pretty high. dfinney23 (3366) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 11, 2015
Pours clear yellow with a finger of white head. Light grass and grain notes. Fine for washing down some terrific artisinal pizza. JaKeAFC (1162) - ITALY - NOV 1, 2015

Bottle from Drink Shop, Raffa di Puegnago, Italy. A pale golden beer with a warming citrus, toffee and grassy flavour followed by a sweet warming fruity finish.
