Bottle with Butters at Second Cellar Reduction. Clover honey color with an offwhite head. Caramel nose and flavor. Malty body. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JAN 5, 2009
Sampled at the Second Cellar Reduction. Clearish orange amber with almost no head. Nose is sweet maple, caramel malt. Flavors are similar to the spaten, honey, toffee, biscuit, but this has a heavier malt component. Medium soft body with medium carbonation. TheBeerBaron (261) - Florida, USA - DEC 27, 2008
Clear copper color fast fading head and no carbonation, a rather plain looking beer. A malty aroma thats sweet with a honey or banana thing going on. A lack of hops keeps it sweet. The flavor mimics the aroma, overly sweet light and banana tasting. A little bitter bite at the finish. Nothing to appreciate - it may have even turned bad or sour on me. Im not satisfied with this one. Gypsy19 (726) - California, USA - DEC 12, 2008
A good hearty lager with an essence of lemon and honey over a dull hoppy backdrop. This isn’t great but still impressive for a lager. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - DEC 7, 2008
12oz bottle-pours a dissipating tan head and amber color. Aroma is musty medium malt, some fruit/spice hops. Taste is musty medium malt-caramel, biting/somewhat aggressive spice hops.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark ruby-caramel color with a small khaki head that faded quickly. The aroma was tangy, sweet and malty with a hint of nut. The flavor was sour, tangy, malty, fruity and a bit vegetal. Gregis (1281) - Stilwell, Kansas, USA - NOV 1, 2008
Pours iced tea brown with a thin off-white head. The nose is of subtle burnt caramel malt, dried leaves and light yeasty breadiness. Light to medium-bodied and slick with soft carbonation and a slightly bitter finish. The flavor is of sweet, toasty caramel malt with a mildly burnt caramel and earthy hop bitterness at the finish. This isn’t too shabby. It’s may not be as good as some of its German counterparts, but it’s a fairly solid rendition of the style. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - OCT 27, 2008
Bottle from CoOP in Davis. This one tasted separately of malt and a poor lager. It was a bit spicy and the palate was alright. Wholly disconnected; not great. jake65 (3696) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - OCT 26, 2008
