Pours copper / bronze with a moderate off-white head. The aroma is a little rich, but has some dryness, caramel malt, floral traits and almost an autumn leafiness ~ that sounds odd but its just what it reminded me of. Medium / thin body with some sharp carbonation. The flavors starts with dry caramel, woody traits and a leafy dryness. The finish has an even more earthy presence. A decent oktoberfest. Brilliant clear reddish copper, decent white head. Nice toasty aroma. Flavor is similiar, with a touch of whole wheat bread and caramel. Also a touch of stale cardboard, too, which was disappointing jgb9348 (6433) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - NOV 12, 2007
Very nice ruby/amber coloured body with a perfect sized tan head. A few bubbles rise from the bottom, but nothing amazing - still a good beer from this brewery - in looks at least. Aroma of fresh grassy hops, nice caramel malt, nuts and some light spices. Medium-bodied; Sharp taste of caramel malt up front fading to a very light hoppy flavour covered up by a potent yet understated metallic twang. Aftertaste shows the malt and light hops more afterwards, leaving some bittering in the palate. Overall, a decent marzen - nothing special, but the looks and immediate tastes are pretty nice. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 11-November-2007. nuplastikk (6414) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 7, 2007
NIce smooth amber colored oktoberfest lager. Has a nice crisp hoppy finish which makes it a little less malt-centered than most oktoberfests. A well done, unique interpretation. Mendocino delivers a great product at a great price. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 28, 2007
Bottle courtesy of kmweaver. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of caramel, some appley hints. Tastes of caramel, some spice, hints of resiny hops, some syrup. Not bad for what it is.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent uncarbonated golden brown colored body. The almost non-existant aroma was malty. The semi-thick mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of hops and brown malt. Not one that I would likely buy again. JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 11, 2007
Bright light copper color with a diminishing light taupe head. LIght caramel and some celery scents. Nice toasted malt start that leads to a watery bitterness. Nice return of the malt in the linger. A touch to bitter for an ideal Oktoberfest, but a nice fall brew. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUL 21, 2010
Nose is mostly toasty with a touch of earthy hops and light metallic notes. Pours amber, decently lasting head, a touch of lace here and there. Nice bright color. Flavor is toasty with light caramel, a touch of bread, and soft earthy hop flavors. A metallic note is noticeable also. Not bad, not that good either. Mid range quality on this beer. Orange color. Malt in the flavor and aroma. Some caramel, and just a little sweet with some dryness in the finish. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 16, 2008
Purchase a single 12-oz bottle at Cellar’s WIne & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a thick and fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind a thin white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, a touch of toffee, and light butterscotch. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, a touch of apples, and butterscotch. Finish is semi-sweet malty with a thin bitterness that quickly disappears. An average octoberfest overall.
