COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

This beer is kinda like buying tickets to a band that is not that great, and its completely unnecessary to buy front row seats to have a worthwhile time. You might just buy the nosebleed seats just because theyre cheap and you know the show will be just as crappy if you cant see the fat ugly singer. This beer is shite, but I bought a 6-pack for 4.99. Considering its 8%, this is not too bad of a deal. I figure I can just sit back, close my eyes and try to enjoy the show the best I can. The price is right!

UPDATED: APR 25, 2017 12oz bottle. Poured a clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma was some light malts, sweet notes. Some nice resinous hop notes. Easy to drink for the ABV on this one.

Bottle. Clear amber color with small off-white head, fruity caramel aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter caramelized malt taste, a bit salty, alcohol undertones, thin body, medium finish. Not bad, not great either.

Bottle from Total Wine, Gainesville VA. Almost clear amber, just about no head. Heavy caramel candy aroma. Flavor is overly sweet caramel candy, rubbing alcohol, grass. Ill finish the bottle, but Id never seek this out.

Underrated and hard to find outside or NorCal and some niche markets. A kind of Imperial Amber, though not overpowering. I would certainly recommend trying it, as there really arent many things to compare it to in Southern California, where Ambers are a less popular style. Only complaint being that quality is inconsistent, I think more due to storage and shipping than to brewing.

22 ounce bottle. I couldnt find a date of any kind. Pours a 24 karat gold with a substantial head of foam that shrinks to aboot a quarter inch. Some nice lacing. I get caramel malt, fruity hops, some booze in the smell. Caramel malt and fruity tastes up front, mild bitterness mid palate, sweetish finish along with some alcohol and alcohol burning. Medium body and carbonation. A bit of a different bird here. I enjoyed the bottle and may pick up another.

12 oz bottle. Thought this beer was just average. It is slightly too sweet and a little boozy.

330ml bottle served in a pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy red color forming a small white head with low retention leaving lots of thin lacings left in the glass. Sweet upfront nose. Strong notes of caramel and resin style hops. Grassy and flowery. Slightly sweet upfront taste. Strong notes of caramel and crystal malts. Mild hops bitterness. Grassy and resin hops profile. Medium body and carbonation. Grassy caramel aftertaste. Not bad.
