O- A super good Barleywine. Lots of fruity flavors and some nice spice from the anise tones. Very smooth and at 11% the alcohol is hardly noticeable at all. I’d like to try this with a year or so of age on it. A solid brew all around. Beer5000 (6731) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 10, 2014
355 ml bottle. Clear amber body with a nice, dense off-white head. Aroma is basically caramel malt and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit and medium bitterness, some alkohol. Full body and sweet aftertaste with a slightly harsh bitterness after a while. Drinkable but not very exciting. BeerdedDave (1875) - Beckley, USA - MAR 9, 2014
deep amber color; sweet malt aroma; a well balanced beer, sweet malt with notes of caramel, bitter hops, and alcohol Damico (3150) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 7, 2014
Pours deep unclear dark caramel with a small beige head. Aroma has some brown sugar and sweet malty notes. Smooth for 11 ABV, body is just right; not too big by any means. Standard sweet malty barleywine flavor, not complex but easy on the palate. Geokkjer (7647) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 31, 2013

Bottle, 12oz. It pours a dense, finger-thick beige head over an almost clear dark amber to light brown body. The aroma is mostly malty, quite bready, with some caramel and roasted malts. Prunes and pine cones. The flavor has a nice bitterness, as well as pine cones. Some alcohol flavor and warmth. Full body with a soft carbonation. Bitter, malty finish with a fruity touch. Nothing impressive going on here, it’s too alcoholic and also slighlty boring. 131231 Meilby (11689) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - DEC 31, 2013
Bottle 355ml @ Geokkjeronceblind (10528) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Pours clear deep amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, bread, dried fruits and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, caramel and fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Aged 3 years, potentially more (2010 bottle). Clear dark ruby with a thin light beige head, really more a ring around the glass. Nose is huge and wonderful; lots of sticky earthy cherry and toffee, some molasses, and sticky dark caramel malts. Flavor is huge and deep, and mostly the same as the nose; lots of caramel, cherry, raisin, earthy toffee, deep booziness, and a sugary warm fruity finish. Bottle 12fl.oz. @ [ The Danish Summer Gathering, TSODRBSG13 ].
Clear medium to dark amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dried fruit, moderate hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sharp, fruity, dry, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
Poured from a bottle in Wichita, KS an orange brown with a thin yellow head. Aroma of caramel and toffee. Taste is sweet with a marked bitterness that holds through the finish. This is a nice barley wine that I suspect would be even better aged a year or two.
