3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Beautiful, cloudy, dark orange body. This imperial IPA has a unique, surprising, peppery aroma, with bread and malty hints as well. The pepper carries over to the taste in some degree and the hops persist through the finish and stay on the palette. No intense citrus hints like some imperial IPAs I’ve tried and the hops balance with the malts as well. An interesting take on the style and not bad at all, nothing really blew me away though.
IPA smell...Mostly Flowery....Taste is definitely on the flower side...Not too bitter but just a bit too flowery...Touch of pepperyness...Decent but nothing special..At motor supply Co with Ann, Gabby and Megan for brunch 1/17 alexsdad06 (10580) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - DEC 26, 2016
12 oz bottle at home from notes. Pours a hazy dark golden orange color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor had pale malts, caramel and honey, orange citrus, resiny and floral hops, moderate bitterness, soft mouthfeel, decent. JPDIPSO (6255) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 18, 2016
Amber color with a bone colored head. Grapefruit and resin dominate the aromas. Hints of pine and caramel in the background (7+). Initial pale malt seems to carry throughout the quaff, interesting. Sweet citrus and mild pine worm there way about. Gets spicier the longer it’s left off of the palate, a bit like red pepper. Interesting and a touch different from your basic IIPA. 4/10

Unclear orange favet IPA with lots are segments in the glass. Fine white foam providing lace on the glass. Something bitter but good grapefruit hoppy flavor. CpyNPrnT (620) - Indiana, USA - MAY 4, 2014
Aroma is lots of caramel, some citrus. Taste is confusing? Lots and lots of malts, mild bitterness, some alcohol. To me, this is more between a Scottish ale and Barley-wine than a DIPA. Disappointed.

amber color; caramel malt aroma; flavor is mostly malt with caramel notes; some hop bitterness, but not what I would expect from an imperial IPA; more of an English style IPA, with malt being the prominent flavor; a very good beer, but more like a barleywine that an IPA mmill527 (85) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 8, 2014
Strong alcohol taste and it’s only 8%. I’ve had a lot of Imperial IPA’s and love em, but this one doesn’t do it for me. A sub par DIPA that I will not get again. VinegarStroke (432) - Napa, California, USA - FEB 4, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2014 Bottle: Hazy, yeast lees, orange copper, thick head and good lace. Huge hop lift. Orange rind. Slightly roasted caramel malt. Reese chocolate and peanut butter. Almost like east coast DIPA. Clean. Rich. Dry, not sour but very bitter. Rich, dense long palate. Bitterness is even to excessive for the the rich malt palate. Other than that issue its very nice. Fruit. Mix of yeast, malt and hops. alkolas510 (1457) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JAN 5, 2014
