Bottle @ Torben Mathews Tasting. Pours opaque black with dark brown head. Aroma had heavy notes of Vegamite, but also malt, gain, cereal, grass, horse blanket, licorice, faint fruity and light spicy. Taste is initial medium sweet then medium to heavy bitter in excellent balance. Body is medium to full creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is long with notes of gravy and Sunday roast. williamherbert (1546) - Syracuse, New York, USA - JUN 5, 2011
The aroma is deep, boozy stone fruits. Dates, raisins grapes. A dusting of nutty chocolate. Very deep; excellent.
The appearance is dark brown, almost black. Healthy light-brown head.
The flavor is burnt cookies (as hell), mocha and black coffee finish on the back of the tongue. At the front, dark fruits -- plum, raisin. A mild citrus-ish hop, leaves a touch of sweetish balance.
Palate is oily exterior but a chunky finish. Slightly dry at the end. A boozy, dark, burnt Imperial Stout. Absolutley outstanding. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JUN 9, 2012

Black, thick, creamy with a dense tan head, rich coffee flavours and a mocha aroma. Smooth for such a strong beer. A very big beer, strong and not for the faint of heart. SSSteve (4006) - - JAN 15, 2011
bottle. black under a creamy brown head. aroma is sweet with milk chocolate and caramel. flavor has lots of roasty character with some burnt caramel, milk and dark chocolate and graham cracker. some christmas cookies with anise. low hop character and no sign of abv. body is creamy and full. honestly, i’m not sure why this is getting such a bad rap. i think it’s pretty darn good.
