This beer was surprisingly good. I was very happy with the purchase and trying this local beer. It was smooth and easy to drink. I will definitely purchase this beer again. CaliforniaWill (5) - - MAY 11, 2013 does not count
This beer is more like a pale ale than a traditional pilsner but its damn good. Compared to a Pilsner Urquell, it’s heavy and hoppier and stronger. This is my go to beer right now. ads135 (5031) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 15, 2013
I like that the Czech style lager seems to be gaining popularity in the States. Dry, malty, with a great earthy, grassy aroma. ChainGangGuy (4930) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUN 5, 2013

Appearance: Pours a clear, darkish gold body with a tall, airy, white head. Fairly good head retention.
Smell: Scantly grainy accent to the pilsner malt with a sweetish cereal hint to it. Lightly spicy, lightly herbaceous hop character.
Taste: Pils malt with touches of cereal sweetness and (light) graininess. Very soft citrus, bits of hopsice and dried herb from the noble hops. Medium-light bitterness. Gradually, gently drying on the back half and into the crisp finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus, active carbonation.
Overall: Over the years, I’ve never really found a Mendocino that hit the spot, but this pilsner is quite good. A nice surprise.
Bottle: light yellow with medium-sized white head. Aroma is light with hay and grassy hops. Flavor is dry with grass, hay, and bisquit. Palate is lively with carbonation and dry. From the aroma I was expecting very little flavor but was surprised by the spicy hoppiness and full flavor; nice beer.

Appearance: Pours clear straw golden with a medium sized white head and some lacing
Aroma: Pilsner malts, crackers, bready and floral
Taste: Malts, bisquity, spicy, grassy, finishes with a mild bitterness and dry
A nice Pilsner, full flavored but light and refreshing
Bottle from KNB: Big bold aroma of grains, cereal, oats and grass that smelled better than most other pils. Appeared a golden liquid topped with a fluffy foam head. Some evidence of floaties are seen from the bottle. Drink is crisp and taste like a full-bodied pilsner because of the quality usage of malts to hop. One of the better pilsners I know of coming out of California or from the U.S. for that matter. joeneugs (6372) - Livermore, California, USA - AUG 11, 2012
12 oz. bottle. Great new pilsner from Mendocino. Who woulda thunk it! It pours a nice clear golden color with a decent white head. The aroma is very strong with spicy Czech hops and a mildly bready pilsner malt background. The flavor is definitely on the hoppy side for the style. Nice clean maltiness and crisp hop finish. The body is pretty full and satisfying for the style. I’m very impressed. Chudwick (3369) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - AUG 16, 2013
12oz bottle - pours clear gold with effervescence, white head and decent lacing. Nose is floral and a little grainy. Flavor adds malty backbone. Refreshing. Moderately bitter. Finally a pilsner I like.
