This beer was nothing special, I enjoyed it overall. It was somewhat smooth but it was extremely hopful. pauliefrog99 (302) - FLINT, Michigan, USA - NOV 27, 2002
Nice fruity and spicy flavor with a good dose of hops thrown in............. SETANTA (582) - Bangor, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 27, 2002

red with creamy tan head. Small bead. Fruit malt nose. Mild hop finish...... Uglyradio (791) - Greenville, South Carolina, USA - NOV 25, 2002
Pours a nice, clear copper color with a medium head that does not linger long. Moderate hop aroma with some maltiness mixed in. Starts out hoppy, but finishes more malty sweet with a slight hop bitterness. Very good amber.

First thing I thought when I opened the bottle, "Is this a lager?" Slightly skunky, but better aroma once it’s in the glass. Medium amber, with lots of particulate bodies. Uncomplicated palate, rather dry finish. Nothing really stands out to me. I can live without it. hopscotch (11161) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 6, 2002
UPDATED: APR 29, 2003 Great Brew!
The commercial description will have to suffice as I took no notes while enjoying this beer. If you enjoy other Amber Ales that I have rated highly, you will not be disappointed with this one. KingPinHead (390) - Des Moines, Washington, USA - NOV 6, 2002
7/16/02: Good hoppy/fruity aroma; wonderful orange-gold color (lots of tiny floaters too, but I don’t mind)...Head is a bit thin, but leaves nice traces of lace nonetheless. This has a lighter and brighter (hoppier) countenance than most ambers--sort of a hybrid of amber with, as Rich42 says, some IPA ’spilled in’. Malt provides subtle undercurrent of caramel sweetness, which also appears in the slightly fruity, hoppy-dry finish...Body is good... ...Perhaps this ale is misclassified [when I first tried this, it was classified as an amber], but however one lists it, this is a very refreshing, flavorful brew with some complexity in both its aromatic and flavor profiles. Re-Rate 11/06/02: This is definitely better when served at cellar temps...Malt and fruity tones come out...This stuff must not travel well cross-country...most all the reviews from east of the Rockies describe a flatness to the profile...This is in opposition to my experience with this ale...It is nice to get the fresh article here on the Left Coast...Nice ale... amx1970390 (480) - Southampton, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 4, 2002
Very stale and bland tasting ale. Not to impressive........................ faulstich (25) - Davis, California, USA - OCT 22, 2002
Another beer that doesn’t taste right out of the bottle. Try it on tap and its a great beer - I wouldn’t call it "strong" though. Tastes a little stale from the bottle. Score is for bottled version.
