Cloudy copper pour...Thin white head...Malty aroma...Light body...Crisp carbonation...Slightly sweet...Clean slightly sweet finish... ChainGangGuy (4894) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUN 16, 2009
Appearance: Pours an ever so slightly hazed, amber body with a smallish, though frothy, white head.
Smell: Vague, mild nose of sweet-scented grains with an equally indistinct hint of fruit. Well, gee, I was hoping for a bit more here. Hopefully the taste will promptly deliver me to Flavor Town!
Taste: Lightly toasty, lightly bready, lightly grainy malts with, yes, a light sweetness. Then, in comes a watery wash of spring water. Touch of fruit. Faintly citrusy, spicy hops with just a touch of bitterness. The finish is dry and clean but also empty and abrupt.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: What is this, Amateur Night?! I’m left quietly muttering encouraging comments to try and coax some (any!) flavor out of this thing. Sadly, a sip of Red Tail Lager doesn’t really entice you take another, unless it’s just the abject curiosity to see if it’ll ever somehow deliver in the taste department, which, again sadly, it does not. hoppopotamus (260) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - JUN 1, 2009
Looks decent: a hazy light brown color, very effervescent with an off-white head. Aroma is weakly malty, and a tad sweet. Flavor is watery, a hint of slightly roasted malt. Water mouthfeel. Pretty boring lager!

They call this a premium lager. This beer tasted like a hombrew kit made with all malt extract and no hops. I would rather drimk a Bud or Miller over this crap. They actually say lightly hopped in description. HAAHAA whook (1) - , New York, USA - JAN 19, 2009 does not count
worst beer i’ve ever tasted, not being dramatic at all. if diet rite had a beer, i imagine it would taste like red tail lager. don’t buy this beer Barrios (1243) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 11, 2009
Bottle with Butters at the First Cellar Reduction. Pours eggshell head and an amber body. Sweet nose. Overripe flavor that reminds me of sweet potatoes. Light finish. Quaffable. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - DEC 28, 2008
Pours a clear medium amber with thin ring of offwhite head. Sweet malt aroma and flavor. Some honey. Easy drinking. Nice session beer. punkeedo (498) - Covington, Louisiana, USA - NOV 28, 2008
2008 Bottle. A light, hoppy beer that was perfect to accompany pizza. Not watery, as though some might think, but merely sensitive in its use of hops. Light yellow color with very little head. A decent beer, but probably not one I’d be dying to try again.
