This is how I really like an IPA to taste. Bitter initially, bold and tart throughout with a nice balance of bittering hops, with enough of a malt character to back it all up. Lingers substantially on the palate. Reminds me alot of Oregon Original IPA. Holdwine (1237) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 19, 2004
Very nice IPA. Just shy of Tuppers. They have the hop groove thing going on, but it just falls short of the overall goal. Tremendous hops (where's the malt?), overly sweet/tart explosion. skortila (5966) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAR 17, 2004
Very sweet, full, hoppy and fruity aroma. Just a little bit hazy coloured with a a lasting white head. Taste is initially overwhelming sweet and hoppy becomes more bhopbitter with a very bitter finish. Nice, decent brew. caesar (7170) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 17, 2004
Slightly hazy golden color, medium white head. Aroma is very sweet, hoppy and some fruit. Taste is more typical IPA, bitter and hoppy, nice. Very bitter palate. NIce IPA. Sven (229) - Lancaster, California, USA - MAR 13, 2004
Hazy golden in colour, nice head, true to style. Hoppy grapefruit aroma. Bitter, hoppy grapefruit flavor. Subtle bite, and not much malt to balance. Enjoyable, but not to complex.

Clear golden orangeish color, small but tight white head. Aroma is fairly hoppy, some citrus and a hint of toasty malt. A bit on the lighter side. Fruity citric character with a moderate bitterness. Average IPA GermanBrews76 (680) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - MAR 11, 2004
hops are citrucy, minty piney and appley with a hint of spicyness. A toasted white bread underlying malt character. Dense, sticky white head. very well carbonated, hazy and lightly sedimented golden body. Smooth and full, but biting and bitter. Intensely hoppy. Some sweet fruits and crackery malts give way to a resinous, sticky hop finish, with pronounced spicyness. classic west coast IPA. nice and warm too. Alcoholist (570) - Peoria, Illinois, USA - MAR 10, 2004
Golden color with a thick white head disolving to a sheet of lace. Nose is surprisingly malty with some biscuit and floral undertones. Flavor is sweet and honeyd at first with the hops coming through and then donminating the flavour. Finish is citrus with a touch of malt. This beer has a nice balance between malt and hops with clean and complex flavours. Certainly not as hop heavy as most California IPAs. Hoss (607) - Florida, USA - MAR 6, 2004
Not my favorite style but this is a good example of the style. It is not "nuclear" with the hops but still true to type Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - MAR 4, 2004
Light gold, nice head, true to style. Very nice grapefruit aroma. Bitter hop flavors dominate, with grapefruit again present. Just a bit of a bite, and not quite enough malt to balance. Enjoyable, but simple.
