What I think of when I think of boring, early 90s IPA. The big rocky head just heightens the disappointment: straightforward (boring) hop aroma. Pretty good basic light malt overwhelmed at the end with massive bitterness. Tediously and unecessarily bitter. Kaya161 (1139) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 9, 2003
Golden-yellow colour. Citrusy aroma. Flavour to match. Not much malt balance. Not bad, but it's like every other American IPA. sloth (2905) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - SEP 7, 2003
Big ole white pillowy head that hangs on. Clear, light copper color. Large chunks of lacing hanging down the sides of my glass. Big hop nose, some bubblegum and some malt too. Medium body. Lots o hops, oily, inky. Bitter, long dry hop finish with some biscuity maltiness at the end, nice IPA. hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - SEP 4, 2003
Clear, deep golden brew with a white, large, rocky head. Mostly lasting with spunky lacework.
The nose contains honey, evergreen, black pepper, whole grain rice and hearty white bread. Warmly bitter from start to finish. Numbing and pleasant experience.
Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Long, bitter finish! happy4hops (376) - Bel Air, Maryland, USA - SEP 4, 2003

Clear, light copper body with a wjite head. Some lacing.edden (925) - cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2003
A not too overpowering hop aroma. A little sweetness.
Nicely bittered, strong malt character. Nice lingering bitterness that reveals some alcohol.
Smooth, full-bodied and drinkable.

hoppy and i bit soapy to the nose. brilliant golden orange body with a nice layer of foam. lacing noted. lots of hops to taste and some bits of floral are also noted. bitter finish.
A pleasing copper color with some gold notes to it. Pours with a quickly disappearing head. Smells sharply hoppy, that has a slight floral and a bit of grassy notes to it. Very smooth tasting, finishes with a strong fruitiness that comes from a solid hop flavor, then one takes note of the solid bitterness. Very malty up front, which then succumbs to a great hop flavor and bitterness. A very well balanced beer. The hop definitely dominates this brew, as it should in an IPA, but there is a solid maltiness which brings this beer to another level.

Hops with a earthy and smoke flavor define this brew. Not a bad tasting IPA but not worth going out of your way to get. HighGravity (926) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - AUG 27, 2003
UPDATED: SEP 24, 2004 (Brewed in Saratoga Springs NY) Nice hoppy nose that is full of citrus fruit and pine. The beer is relatively light in color. The body is full and malty with a wealth of hop bitterness and malt. Although, the beer leans far towards hoppy there is enough malt to keep the hops from taking over this beer. The beer is hopped with cascades and fuggles, but in the end, the cascade hop wins out, which is to my liking. This is a very gratifying strongish (7% ABV) IPA that seems to be a hybrid of many takes on the style.
