Pour is a clear orange with a small head. No lacing and hardly any head at all. Mendocino is dead on when they say it’s heavily hopped....because it is!!
Aroma is all hops and the taste is bitter throughout. Palate is kind of thin, but that’s my only complaint about this good IPA. RichJ7 (1175) - Cullman, Alabama, USA - MAR 27, 2006
Pours a murky copper in color with a thin white head. The aroma actually hit me in the face as I was pouring at arm’s length, pungent hops over a rich, malty base. The flavor is extremely well-balanced for an IPA, the hops clean and crisp at the beginning with a fresh, malty smoothness in the body. Ends with a lightly bitter finish. Very nice. More drinkable than most IPAs. Trooper11 (468) - Suffolk, Virginia, USA - SEP 10, 2006
Deep amber color with foamy white head. Floral hoppy aroma. Gotta let this one warm up a bit to experience the full hop flavor. Nice bitterness. LooseCannon (938) - Norfolk, Virginia, USA - SEP 10, 2006
Hazy amber color with white head. Need to let this one warm-up a liitle, to get the full hop flavor. LinusStick (3461) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 14, 2006
Wooo Hoo! An IPA for the gods! After a month of sub-par IPA selections this one stands out! Not very aromatic but what this beer lacks there makes up in all out taste. Hops are the order here, folks, and make it a double. It’s not an IIPA but the great bitterness is harsh and rough. If this beer was a boxer it would be the champ! I would call this beer beautiful, but that wouldn’t suit it. It’s tough and rigid! A+++

Dark golden pour with a small white head. Hoppy aroma. Malty flavor with a hoppy finish, though not bitter. Well balanced. smackie (54) - St. Augustine, Florida, USA - NOV 3, 2007
Since ABC has just started to put obscure micros in the cooler, guess what, they sell! This was a nice surprise, really good for an IPA. Not
overpowering. This batch was brewed in Saratoga Springs,NY. Will be considered a special treat at 8.99. What has happened to the price of beers these days? unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - NOV 21, 2007
12oz bottle. Pours sparkling orange, white head. Aroma of sweet floral/citrus hops. Hints of honey, caramel some sweet malts leading to a light sweetness. Very nice IPA flavors. Big hop, but not too big, medium bitterness. Just enough bitterness to remind you that you are drinking a real beer. Pleasant malt backbone. Light, resiny bitter finish. medium body, dankbrewqueen (41) - Morongo Valley, California, USA - DEC 12, 2007
This deliciously tasting
IPA is a perfect selection after a hard days work. It is expentionally crafted to suite the average blue collar man. A great choice any day of the week. Dacrza (979) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - APR 14, 2008
Orange-tan medium effervescent body with a healthy white cumulus cloud head, half-inch after settling--attractively sits in its snifter... hops-like pine and fresh-cut grass--a bit fruity as well... pleasant and medium-bodied--lacking weight? only slightly effervescent... immediate presence in the throat--evens out over the tongueand spruces up in time...the lingering presence is a bit punchy...this IPA sneaks up on you, with little fanfare and less power than the other members of the ABV-heavy IPA brotherhood... smoothed out a Cavs’ loss, and fits reasonably well with the others in this sampler...
