Name changed to Redwood Stout in 2015.

Jet black in color and fullbodied with a rich, creamy, long-lasting head. Robust, with luscious chocolate and coffee flavors, it is balanced with just the right amount of UK Golding hops. Brewed with massive quantities of oats, our Oatmeal Stout is smooth in the extreme. It pairs well with a wide range of hearty, full-flavored foods and delicious desserts. Our Oatmeal Stout is 6.0% alcohol by volume and 100% marvelous!

Had this after watching Hasenauer Hilton basketball with Joe. Joe did not want to go to a bar, so I came home and had this. Im lucky, cause this brew was great. Pours a jet black color with a small brown head. The aroma is of chocolate and roasted coffee. The flavor is of roasted coffee with notes of sweet chocolate.Goes down smooth with a slight sweet after taste.

A coffee flavored stout, leaves more aftertaste than I like. However not bad for a seasonal stout

12oz bottle, gift. Pours near-black (just a tiny bit of light shines through) with a thin tan head. Aroma is mildly smoky, burned malts and just a touch of coffee. Flavor is smoke up front, sliding through the range of heavily toasted malts with a British twist from the Goldings. Oats are apparent, but dont quite smooth out the sharp smokiness.

Bottle. Black body with a frothy tan head. Sweet aroma of bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, cocoa. The flavor is moderately sweet and and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Sweet chocolate tastes give way to bitter roast with a hint of grapefruit. Light smokiness and chewy caramel. Rich, slick mouthfeel. The sweetness was too much by the end of the bottle.

this is a quite a unique beer, the smokiness is quite mellow but does offer a bit of character. not too rich in the malt aspect but falls short in the hop. the oatmeal taste is quite thorough. good beer.
