Really enjoyed this beer. Dark in colour, it tastes of a brown ale, almost porter like, and smells of one to but this finish is what makes this beer. As the flavour of the darker malts disappears the flavour of the hazelnut appears and its amazingly good, its almost creamy, I would go back here just to drink this one, it is seasonal but darn good offering joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 24, 2003
Medium amber w/ thin finger of lasting white foam. Decent lacing. Aroma of musty hazelnuts & almonds. Thin body. Artificial hazelnut flavour dominates (much like flavoured coffee). Otherwise not much else going on. Cloying. daboskabouter (1470) - Fergus, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 25, 2003
Light brown/dark red in color with a light white head. Hazlenutty, but a more almondy aroma with some chocolate, similar to chocolate covered almonds. The body is rather sweet with nutty notes, again mostly almonds. Spritzy and ending sweet with malt and a touch of iron. Not too bad, but a touch sweet and really too nutty and spritzy for its own good. dhurtubise (568) - Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 6, 2003
Although this seemed to be selling quite well here, I found it to be almost undrinkable. It is a brown ale base with hazel nut extract in abundance. In fact that is about all I could taste from the beer aside from a healthy dose of residual sweetness.
