75cl Bottle from De Molen shop. Thought this would be appropriate for the Eurovision Songfestival. ABV is 11.2%. Black colour, thin brown head. Aroma of liquorice, some hops, ash, hard-roasted malts, molasses, chocolate. Flavour is thick, sweet, syrupy, molasses, roasted malts, earthy, liquorice, chocolate, hops, firm earthy bitter finish. Full-bodied, very thick, viscous. Good stuff. This, and Death on my headphones, helped me sit through the agony of having to watch the Eurovision. 750ml bottle [11.2% abv, bottle #23]. Minimally ruby red glowing, black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, fairly lasting, superbly lacing, tan head. Roasty dark malty aroma, notes of leather, oak, liquorice, a touch of smoke. Taste is bone dry dark malty, salty, notes of liquorice, oak, leather, soy sauce. Very soft, thick, oily palate, lasting dry, salty finish. Not what one would call flattering or simply accessible in taste, but a really sophisticated, immensely dry Impy Stout. mrhoppy (1288) - Santa Clara, California, USA - DEC 30, 2013
