Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 23, 2013
Bottle #294: Served in a Chouffe glass: Deep dark brown to black pour. Medium to smaller sized light brown foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of creamy roasted malts, liquorice, nettle toast, hay, soap, hay toast and a slight hint of older hops... Dull aroma at first but gets a bit better with a while in the glass. Flavours of chocolate (mostly dark), creamy sweet tar, mocha, bitters, dark sweets, marzepin, coffee, coffee cream, brown sugars, darkened malts and some hints of caramel. Aftertaste bitter, chocolate, light dry creamy and some coffee. Low to no carbo, thick silky mouthfeel, full body and a thick oily texture. Very nice thick texture. Dangerously easy drinkable!

Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, smoke - licorice, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130503]

Bottle, thanks to Jeffo, 08/04/2013. Black pour, fine espresso cream head, dies to a haze on the surface and then to stillness. Aroma is rich chocolate cake, touch of vanilla and dark berries, long smooth roast coffee finish, fairly dark and bitter. Taste is dark chocolate, cocoa nut, sweet dark fruit, licorice, lingering coffee and bitterness. Thick body, but needs a bit more heft (ie carbonation) to carry everything. Brings me back, definitely classic Menno brew but some of the typical flaws as well. Still, cant complain too much, fairly tasty.

Black color with small beige creamy head. Quite strong and nice aroma of roasted malts and coffee, strong yeast too, some cardboard. Full bodied, with good flavor of roasted malts, moderate sweetness, some coffee, light leather, correct bitterness.
Many elements here, very good.

Bottle. Aroma is huge roast, liquorice, burned bread, chocolate, caramel and more. Flavour is huge roasty malt bitterness, liquorice, coffee, molasses and more. Palate could use more body imho to carry the hefty flavours but still awesome.
