CBC. Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is soft and airy. Semi dry. Light touch of dark malts. Little smoke and coffee. Some malt cream. Semi dry finish. Rich and satisfying.

Bottle, courtesy of Kermis, @ Rampkrot tasting. Pours a pitch black beer with a small short lasting tanned head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, molasses and roast. Oily texture, deep dark flavor of coffee and chocolate with a slight hint of vanilla. Quite good actually.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2013 Thx to Kermis @ Rampkrot Whale tasting – 75 cl. Bottle sampled. Nr. 181. Black, looks flat, almost no tanned head. Nose is roasted, mellow mocha, touch vinous, chocolate, hint dark fruits & liquorish,… Taste is bitter roast, slick vinous, bitter chocolate, liquorish, sugar thick, bitter herbs, quite simple, pure coffee, flat coffee, hint sour, bitter finish, quite simple, coffee ground,… Flat, meh. Below par, flat messy RIS, heavily overpriced. Glad to try one of their beers but this is not worth it.

Corked bottle. Black and opague. Lots of coffee, dark chocolate and roast in the aroma. Thick mouthfeel. Full bodied. Low on carbon. Lots of coffee, licorice and roast in the flavor. Hints of dark chocolate. Alcohol shimmering through. Silky, but flavorful.

75cl, at 11.2%Vol, as Painfull Death, Bottle N° 110, new exclusive Dutch brew Anno 2013, from De Molen Beershop Bodegraven, complex Stout, roasted/spicy and slightly salty/sweet, yet not too heavy, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, yet expensive!

gEUS (1637) - Linden, BELGIUM - JUN 4, 2013
750 ml bottle n°115, drank at home. Poured in an oversized wine glass. Pours thick viscous dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma of nuts, roasted malts and coffee, chocolate and dates. Thick body, oily mouthfeel, nice bite in the end. Taste of dark chocolate and coffee. Not the best of De Molen’s RISes... but OK.

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Session 1. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Hops in the nose, some pine, some ginger cookies. Big sweet flavor with heavy roast, baking cocoa. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Very oily. Lightly warming to finish with bitter chocolate and earthy bitterness. A fine impy stout.
