Tap @ CBC 2013. The pour’s deep amber with a small head. The nose is soured berries, compost, balsamic. Brett. The taste is lactic fink. Raspberry jam, fruit by the foot candy. Nice sweet/tart profile. The balance makes this pretty effortless. Not a hint of the menace you’d expect in a 10% sour. Overall, very good. The best thing Merciless / De Molen did at the festival. saxo (18787) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - MAY 9, 2013

CBC. Hazy amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and a little soft. Fine minerally carbonation. Sweet vanilla wood, creamy. Lovely contrast of Flemish generic tart fruits. Finishes semi dry and crisp. Really nicely joined up.
CBC 2013. Pours cloudy red brownish with a small tanned head. Aroma is fruity malty yeasty spicy. Flavor is as aroma berry velvety smooth a bit acidy and almonds. jmgreenuk (9528) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - MAY 14, 2013
Tap at De Molen. Poured a hazy deep reddish amber with a frothy off white head. The aroma is rich and fruity. The flavour is packed with red berry fruit and alcohol. The alcohol provides the bitterness and there is some sourness on the palate from the fruit. A rather complex beer and the best I’ve tasted from "Merciless".

Draught: Served in a taster:
Smaller sized to quickly changing off white bubbles on top of a hazy amber brown colored beer.
Aromas of wood, whiskey, liquor, oak, berries, vanilla and cream.
Flavours of some berries, bitters, spices, wood, vanilla, cream, light lemon, malts, earth, light sour.
Aftertaste has some bitters, berries, light sour, cream and wood.
Low carbo, soft almost silky mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture.
A very good beer but the combo of whiskey barrel aging and sour ale is a bit weird, but on the other hand, it does seem to work... _angst_ (4802) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - AUG 23, 2013

Draught @ CBC. Pours hazy burnt orange with offwhite head. Aroma of malt, light brett, sweet tropical fruits, peach, light citrus. Flavor is sweet and rather intense with a little brett, figs, sweet tropical fruits, peach, some booze. Full body, soft carbonation, warming alcoholic finish. 030513 caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 11, 2013
Tap @ de Molen. Cloudy light brown color, short head. Aroma is fruity of tangerine, hint of strawberry, milky, slight tart, lots of toffee and caramel. Soft sour flavor, lots of toffee and caramel again. Creamy mouthfeel. It drinks like sweet fruity dairy. Alcohol not noticeable at all. It’s a bit too sweet for my liking, wonder how the barley wine part develops with age, because it’s actually way too young. The Gose makes it dangerously drinkable though.
