(Bottle, 3.9%). Fairly lively on opening. Pours fairly thick white head, diminishing to thin. Light golden. Mid carbonation. Aroma of light malts; bready, with moderate levels of spicy hops and some light citrus, lemony. Taste is lightly caramel malt, with fairly bland hoppy bitterness. Medium body and OK mouthfeel; smooth, bit tangy. Fairly average bitter, bit easy drinking.

Bottle. Clear amber beer with an odd looking head that dies away quickly leaving something that looks like detergent. suds. Low carbonation. Tired ale, flat and uninteresting. Some insipid hop. Boring and unpalatable.

Leighton (21299) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 20, 2011
Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW. Clear gold pour with a medium, foamy white head. Faint aroma of toasted malts and grass. Flavor is lightly sweet with a big smoke character. Not dark and roasty, more like burning dry wood or something. Some nice, bitter notesd of earth and grass. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nice duration smoke finish, toasty malts, lingering earth hops. Solid stuff here.
