Draft at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A pitch black beer with a dense brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and lighter notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. The body is a bit thin. joergen (29598) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2012

Colour is dark rubyish red with longlasting beige head. Aroma is mild roastyness along with cocoa and wood. Flavour is pretty much the same. Reminds quite a lot of a mild ale in my opinion...

Dark brown color; creamy head (of course). Light aroma, some watery roasted malt flavor, mild, but probably affected by the nitro; there is some dark chocolate malt at the end. Not bad, but without the nitro would be better...
Black; sourish pint, actually; some brown malt, and a light, watery, coffeeish finish. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2007
(Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Black color, nice lasting beige head. Malty chocolate and cocoa aroma. Chocolate flavor, close to getting a bit thin, but still a good beer. TBone (18542) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 29, 2006

Opaque black, good creamy tanned chocolaty head. Nice intensive nose of cold coffee and chocolate. Aroma is better than beer’s flavor itself. Roasted coffee beans are there but body watery, lighter than you could expect from good nose. Anyway balanced porter and the best of Messrs maguire’s current brews.
2009-05-15. Black body with a smooth khaki brown head. Flavour is pleasant, mild bitter roast throughout, sweet chocolate touches up front fade out. Aroma is surprisingly mild primarily showing very mild roast malt. Smooth creamy palate is lighter than I would prefer, but weightier than a Guinness. (3+) Decent stout. On tap at the brewpub. Draught at the Brewery in Dublin. Dry, well roasted stout with lots of coffee and a touch of cocoa. Very dry and flavorful. A very typical, but well-made dry stout.
