On cask at the brew pub. Appearance: very dark brown, almost black, thick latte coloured head. Aroma: Mild, a little chocolate and malt, somewhat roasty with some grass notes. Flavour: Mild mouthfeel with a hint of chocolate & malt, toasty, simple, quick milk chocolate finish. Pleasant. TBone (17676) - Pori, FINLAND - SEP 29, 2007

Dark ruby, almost opaque color, nice expresso head, some lace. Some roasted and papery notes in the nose. Coffeish, coffee beans all over. Clean, a bit lagerish product. Nicely drinkable.
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Rugby BF. A black coloured beer with no head. The aroma and flavour are both a little thin, but there are hints of chocolate. There is some roasty malt. Smooth but needs more body. harrisoni (18800) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAY 18, 2007
Cask gravity at Reading BF. Powdery, choc porter. Simple, but fine. Drinkable if not exactly intense. Choc powder.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Dark brown, small head. Evident licorice aroma. medium bodied, a bit tarry with resiony finish. Uncomplicated and a bit edgy, but still good. User37895 (3042) - - OCT 19, 2007
Draft at Bull and Cork, Dublin. The pour was dark brown in color, ok initial head and below par lacing. The aroma was milk chocolate and light roast. The flavor was milk chocolate first and foremost, light roast second, and a variety of lesser harder to detect hints of licorice and maybe some dark fruits. The mouthfeel was low on carbonation, somewhat sticky. Overall a sweeter take on the porter style, also not complex, but enjoyable (not sessionable: too sweet). Beer Festival, 2007. Black beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly roasted and the flavour is malty and weakly roasted. Overall a plain porter.
Cask, Rugby Fest 07. Almost black with a small head. Aromas are earthy roast malts with some chocolate and hints of liquorice. Some berry fruit. Flavours are roast malts with some smokiness. Floral notes with a dry finish.
