Cream and caramel malts aroma. Reddish amber colour, fine creamy beige head, good lace. Malts, toffee, sweetish and light bitter. Flat and soft mouth feel. Pleasant.
Gravity at Birmingham Beer Fest. Nice red beer (there were a lot on this evening). Rusty indeed - metallic, slightly nutty, but mostly just flaky malt, with hints of oven roasted tart. Quite good really. Nekronos (4174) - Xalapa, MEXICO - FEB 12, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 1, 2006 I do not find the thing about ale beers, english style, it is like drinking piss, bitter to the bone and they taste like a tea. BUt this is was better than some english tap beers. I liked and cheers to the waitress. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JUL 20, 2010
tap at the brewpub - Pours dark amber, almost ruby red, with a lasting white head. It smells of lightly toasted caramel malt. The flavor is sweet, toasted caramel malt with a slightly bitter, lingering toasted malt finish. It’s decent though bland. culchiem (4030) - Berlin, GERMANY - JAN 27, 2011
Draught. Red with a nice lasting white head. Aroma is sweet with some fruit. Smooth mouth feel, with some malt and a hint of nuts in the finish.

Reddish color with a thick white head. A bit maltier and hoppier than some of their others which is nice. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 19, 2006
19/05/06 Messrs. Maguire Dublin. Good, fairly clear amber red body and head retention is nil. Burnt caramel taste, sweet with a burning dry finish. Bart (2937) - Brussels, BELGIUM - AUG 9, 2008
Clear red brown coloured beer with some very little carbonation and an average creamy white head. Fruity sweet caramel (strawberry?) aroma. Full palate. Finish is light bitter fruity with a light yeasty ending. Nice one. garthicus (2933) - Dublin, IRELAND - NOV 16, 2007
On tap - Messrs, Dublin. Red clay colour, firm, creamy off white head. Hops and malt in the aroma with a smooth malt-caramel flavour. A serious session beer.
