Aroma gives me nutty malts, maybe a bit of floural hops. Taste is quite bitter, but with some caramel malts. rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2007

Orangey-amber colour. Caramelly, earthy sweet aroma with light mushroomy notes. Herbal, fruity, with light caramel and even a hint of acidity. jgb9348 (6398) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 1, 2011
Nice red tint to a copper body. Light malty nose with some alcohol and toffee. Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour with a good creamy finish. A bit of hops at the end, tucked in with golden syrup too. Overall, a nice beer and my first non stout in the whole of Ireland. I sampled this pint on draught at the MessRS Maguire Bewpub in Central Dublin on 19-February-2009. joergen (28772) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2012

Pint on tap at Messrs on multiple occasions. Going back a bit to remember it but it was creamy with a good white head, quite hoppy with some caramel sweetness. A little chemically which was a slight drawback and would prevent you having a 2nd on a night out. boto (2261) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - MAR 6, 2004
Draught at the Brewpub: It looked good enough, as it poured a clear, copper-amber color. There was a tight, white, nitro head on it. There was a bit of an aroma of pine and grapefruit hops to the nose. Where did they go? They were not evident in the taste at all. In fact, there wasn't much taste evident at all. It had some sweetness, but was thin and bland. Boring! TBone (17796) - Pori, FINLAND - JUL 29, 2006

Dark amber color, steady creamy off-white head. Weak nose of leafy hops. Flowery hoppy aftertaste. Reasonably hoppy English-type bitter.
Cask at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A hazy red beer with a very dense orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of berries. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of berries, leading to a dry bitter and slightly woody finish. downender (8729) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2009
Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 19/03/09. Appealing, reddish amber in colour, with a moderate, off-white head. Sweet, caramel and dough aroma with a whiff of red berries. Flavour was cloyingly sweet, with heaps of barley sugar and crystallised fruit. One pint was enough.
