65 cL bottle, fantastic looking plastic wrapped yet colourful bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a slowly collapsing white head. Aroma is malty and vague spiced. Sweet malty flavoured, light dry spice note. Annis seed like note into a lingering sweet malty finish.

Oh man, what a bummer. The hefty Norwegian price tag kept my expectations up all the way until the pouring. While the smell is interesting, the beer just splashes freely into my huge Du Monde Blanc 0,7 (in effect, line is a bit further down) glass and goes mute and deaf in about 2 seconds. No head, no life, despite my effort to create some foam to smell and look on top of this thing. Bleak, slightly-tanned-lager appearance, not exactly what I had hoped for. This is definitely one of the beers I should’ve read the ratings for BEFORE purchase... Oh well, down it goes, with all its weak, somebody-dissolved-my-chewing-gum flavor to it. Doesn’t even hold enough alcohol to get my consolation drunkenness on. Bad, bad, bad. And they dare brand this s**t Christmas beer???

Bottle @ Cardinal. Pours golden with a very thin head. Weak malty aroma. Taste is light sweet, malt, berries. Dries up at the end. Strange christmas brew.

Bottle 75cl. An dark amber beer with a big white head. The beer is not complex at all, very less malty, the bitter-orange taste is too present (like drinking beer with Picon). Quite disepointing beer less intresting than the Pils one.

7 April 09 on Cardinal. Golden, nice head. A bit too sweet for my taste, and a bit late for christmas beer...

650ml dark blue, Yuletide-decorated bottle bought at Vinmonopolet in Harstad, and shared with Eva on a Saturday eve. Clear golden-amber body topped by a thin, ring of dimples. Pale malty aroma with an artificial impression. Sweet malty taste with notes of fresh berries and lemony fruits. Herbal dry endnotes. Lively carbonated. Some refreshments, sparse Christmas mood [Tromsø, 03.01.2009].

Bouteille <Merci, Quack-Duck!> Deep golden to light amber coloured, rapidly collapsing off-white head. Lemons and cinnamon in the moderate sweetish-caramelly nose. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, a bit flat. Sweetish, Coca-Cola-like finish. No pleasure........

[25cl bottle, merci beaucoup à Quack-Duck pour les petites Françaises] Clear, amber colour with a cream-coloured, mid-sized foamy head. Sweet and slightly sourish malty nose with a touch of toffee and flowery as well as spicy accents, also quite artificial. Light-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Malt-accented, slightly fruity taste with spicy (pepper, cinnamon) notes. Quite dry and slightly bitter, spicy and shy hoppy finish with traces of alcohol that cannot be hidden. All in all not bad [20.XII.08].

Bottle in Strassbourg, 2006. Called Biere Aromatisee a l’orange, and it sure was. Amber color. Basically a cheap beer, with a little more malt character than their pils, but still not near enough. Hopping was not too bad. There was a ton of orange in there, certainly some kind of syrup as it was very sweet and caramelly. It was drinkable, but basically cheap alcopop. Slightly interesting, but forgettable.
