650 ml green glass bottle, entirely covered in very "christmasy" plastic foil. Courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Also available in Norway at Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 5.8%. Clear and deep golden colour, large and lasting head. Fruity and spicy aroma with notes of farm kitchen, quite nice. The flavour has some of the "spritziness" of other bières-de-garde, but is sweeter, with caramel. Artificial "aroma" (whatever that may be) has been added, hmmm ... That is probably what I get some candy / pear drops notes from. Moderate hops in the finish. Not your typical Christmas beer, but drinkable. BlackHaddock (7696) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2017
UK Aldi selling a gift pack as Ackerland, Bière de Noël, 4 x 25cl bottles and a badged bulbous glass: £5:99. Had two of the bottles today (23rd Nov 2017) while preparing a Thanksgiving meal for a few family members. Clear dull golden pour, no head after ten seconds. This is beer is just a semi-strong Lager with a slight tweak for Christmas (adding orange flavouring and some spices). To be fair it isn't awful, but it isn't good either. Will have to fob someone else off with the two remaining bottles! larsga (7657) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 18, 2008
Medium offwhite head. Copper body with light carbonation. Fruity, lemony aroma with notes of lime. Sweetish fruity lemony taste, again with a kind of lime background. Clean, medium mouthfeel. Dry malty caramelly aftertaste dominated by the same lemon/lime character. Not terribly complex, and extremely unusual, but quite OK. This is really the beer Corona should have been. What the association with Christmas could possibly be I really couldn’t say. (0.65l bottle from the wine monopoly.) Geokkjer (7647) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 22, 2012

Bottle. Deep, dark golden beer with a prototypical lager head. Drinks with a rich, clean, malty goodness. There’s a hint of some viscous alcohol, but not that much. Thicker and "gooder" than your standard lagers, but built on that baseline. (#5359, 12/11/2013) KnutAlbert (6792) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 12, 2007
Dark gold, a bit yeasty. Lots of Christmas spiciness. Cinnamon, almonds, over a fine body. A little citrus, too. Nice. Beer5000 (6736) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2008
650ml bottle. Clear golden body with intensive carbonation and a small off/white head. The aroma is vague malty and a bit perfumed (spices?), don’t like that smell. Flavor is quite mild malty with some kind of perfumed bitterness. Watery body and not well-balanced, a bit to thin and sweet. Forget the Christmas stash, the world has room for a wider idea of a suitable beer for the season than Norwegians. As a Bière de Garde I find this more ordinary and with a lack of the flavors I expect compared with others I have sampled. To ordinary and weak. Maakun (6452) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 22, 2014
75cl bottle. Clear light Amber with good sized off white head. Light spices, orange peel, Christmas cake and wine gums. Light sweet malts. Light sweet taste with spicy finish. Light bodied. Not bad, nice light Christmas beer. jaghana (6283) - Strasbourg (Alsace), FRANCE - NOV 3, 2009
Bottle 75cl. An dark amber beer with a big white head. The beer is not complex at all, very less malty, the bitter-orange taste is too present (like drinking beer with Picon). Quite disepointing beer less intresting than the Pils one.
