Seriously, you may have to go to the Alsatian region of France to get this beer, you just can’t trust an importer to get you a fresh one. I tried this beer for the first time in Koln, then came back 8 months later and went to the brewery. I drank this beer on tap and out of a bottle. Meteor has a wonderful nose, followed by an amazing carmelly middle that finishes with an aromatic fruity hoppiness perfectly blended with more caramel in the finish. Just amazing. I have not found another beer that even comes close to this flavor. Completely unique and again, if you can get some fresh, it is the best beer in the world.

Bottle. Golden with a small head.Slightly sweet. Surprisingly I thought this was a reasonable if uninspiring lager. Wouldn’t go out my way to buy it but wouldn’t turn it down if I was thirsty.

Clear yellow with white foam head. Aroma is bitter hops, taste is nice bitter pilsener. Good beer with the perfect lunch at a local restaurant. Short aftertaste. (Strasbourg 201207)

Ethereal (2421) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 8, 2011
On tap at a small bistro in Lyon, 18th Nov 2010. 25cl. Clear gold with a small line of head. Dry, lagery nose. Taste is papery standard lager. Light, refreshing and not much of an aftertaste. Not too fizzy or gassy and better than most macro fizz.

Bottle @ dad’s. Clear golden color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, light bitter grains, decently bitter. Average body and carbonation. Decent lager.

Quack-Duck (9484) - Down South, GERMANY - OCT 29, 2009
bottle from Auchan Illkirch-Graffenstaden. Clear golden colour with a decent white head. Hoppy nose. Light-bodied with a shy malty background and some nice hoppy flavours (probably Strisselspalt from Alsace).

Arayaga2 (2188) - portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 26, 2012
Hazy orange/yellow with no head or visible carbonation, but this is probably an old 5L mini-keg. Aroma is semi-sweet with hints of cider. Taste is a bit more malt based, but the lack of carbonation confuses. $10/5L

malty and fruity aroma with shades of lollipop and honey... the taste is malty, rather clear and refreshening, with slight hoppy bitterness - but with very quick finish... no aftertaste practically...

Aroma is typical of a lager, crisp and malty and a little fruity. It pours a nice clear amber with a fairly thick and fluffy ivory head. Crisp, malty flavor is quite refreshing with a firm fruity note. Smooth texture has average thickness - actually seems a wee bit thicker than most pale lagers - and a decent fizz, though it doesn’t persist. Average all around, but shows that the French can make beer.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2017 250ml bottle. Vintage 1990. It opens with a fizz and very good carbonation. Soft, but very lively. I’ve had fresher beers that had less life. It’s a soft, creamy and fruity beer - no off flavours at all. No cardboard notes. Just a soft, fruity, creamy beer. Some gentle metallic notes. Some sweet apple. Very enjoyable, and surprisingly fresh tasting. Thoroughly enjoyed this. 2.9 339ml green bottle. Ordinary pale lager. Drinkable. 2.4
