« Meteor pils is a superior qualitu beer and the result of a unique know-how. Made in 1927 by Louis Haag and his son Frédéric, its authentic, exclusive recipe is a skilful combination of nole ingredients, particularly hops from the Czech Republic (Saaz) and Alsace (Strisselspalt). Its pale yellow colour is crowded by an abundant, airy head that holds out the promis of great finesse. Particularly light and sparking, it gradually asserts its smooth bitterness before opening up it rich, floral aromas and offering an intense freshness.

So it pours with a bright yellow body and huge fluffy pilsner head. The aroma is bread, dry bread, perhaps a baguette or two. Taste is a fruit mix of watery hops with a smooth finish. As a pilsner, it’s all right, I’d imagine - though uncreative and hard to distinguish from that kind of bunch.

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 2, 2010
Golden colored with medium sized white head. Sweet aroma with herbal and fresh hopped note, some fruity lemon also here. Thin to medium bodied, smooth palate. Flavor is also sweet with same herbal hops, aftertaste has some cardboard, still nice pils.

larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 21, 2010
Big white lasting head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Hoppy grassy milky aroma with herbal notes. Dry-sweet minty papery floral taste with mealy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dry mealy floral aftertaste with metallic straw notes. Nice. An impressive industrial pale lager. (0.65l bottle, Auchan, Illkirch, Strasbourg.)

On draught in Berlin. Honey golden with a fluffy white head that lasts all the way through. Smooth oily texture with a sweet aftertaste. Super pils

KyotoLefty (10263) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 23, 2010
75 cl bottle in Strasbourg. Includes corn and caramel. Which is not good. The smell is definitely skunked. With this skunk smell, is not very promising from the start. Quite a big head there, lot of carbonation, it looks like an American-style pale lager. It has a slight taste of real malt at the beginning, but it just cheapens out into the corn at the end. It’s got some hopping. It’s drinkable, for a cheap piss fake pils. Not much there at all. Light and refreshing, yeah, but not much taste. It’s not a very good beer at all, though drinkable.

Probably the best beer made in France. Clear color. Great and fresh aroma, citrus... and a soft taste of a good central european beer

Ungstrup (37583) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2009
Draft. A golden beer with a thin lazing white head. The aroma has notes of grain, malt, and hay. The flavor is sweet with notes of grain, malt, and straw, leading to a quite bitter finish.

750 ml bottle. Strasbourg, France. Clear pale golden colour with white medium-size head. Quite strong Czech style Pils hoppiness and some maltiness in aroma. Malty and slightly metallic flavour. Not as hoppy as the aroma. Bit of a disappointment. But good for a such cheap brew.

DonMagi (5593) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUL 15, 2009
Draught in the rake. Alround rating: Pale malt exstract, notes of candy sugar, herbal hop exstract, notes of garbage. Poor stuff.

frankenkitty (2012) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - OCT 23, 2008
Fuzzy white head dissipates quickly over a pale golden body. Mildly effervescent (probably solely due to the etching on the bottom of my Chimay goblet). Milky, grassy aroma, mildly sweet. Light herbal bitters to the flavor alongside a pale malt sweetness. Crisp. Not bad.
