If malt and hops are the two poles of brewing, this beer is the gently spinning sweet spot between them. First, you’ll notice the spicy aromas of Perle and Hallertau hops. Then - wipe the foam off the tip of your nose - dive into the toasty flavors of Vienna and Munich malts. Dynamo starts strong and finishes crisp and smooth. The balanced flavors, aromas, and even the coppery-red tones of this beer go great with everything. Fear no pairing. The best time to enjoy Dynamo is when you’re thirsty. Dynamo Copper Lager goes great with pizza, neighborhood block parties, spring rolls, first dates, football games, whiskey, tapas, the Sunday newspaper, late-night burritos, veggie omelets, business lunches, grilled mushrooms, pretzels, political debate, corn-on-the-cob, classic sci-fi flicks, mixed greens, campfires, salmon, billiards, cherry pie, rock shows, pumpernickel, salsa, grand openings, peanuts, sewing bees, extra sharp cheddar cheese, and holidays. Pours a nice golden colour with tiny white head. Aroma is hops, malt, fruits. Taste is sweet hops. Very drinkable beer. crystal clear gold with tiny head that dissipates quickly (maybe a bad pour?).

7/27/2010: Metropolitan Dynamo Copper... Aroma: Creamy toothpaste; cooked apple with toffee. Appearance: Hazy copper color; dense, creamy, and lasting beige head; solid lacing. Flavor: Brown sugar; a touch of buttery; earthy bitterness; some toffee and roast: oxidized cherry and green apple. Palate: Medium-full body, really creamy and smooth. Overall: Decent, but confusing.

Draught at Dugan’s in Chicago. Rating #98 for this beer.

Thanks to Eugene for sharing - clear gold - frothy lace - lovely nose of honeyed maltiness, grassy and floral hops, bright fruitiness, melon rind - moderately frothy carbonation in the mouth - light, crisp - crackery malts, moderate minerality, floral, medium bitter hops - some clean honey-ish sweetness in the finish - light Vienna toastiness throughout - there is a very mild huskiness on the tail end that is the only drawback - otherwise this is quite a nice lager.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a mostly clear copper with minimal head. Aroma is pretty weak. A little caramel and straw. Taste is light sweet. Caramel with a little spice. Full bodied with a slightly thick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not bad. Not standout but drinkable.

Pours crystal clear gold with tiny head that dissipates quickly (maybe a bad pour?). Aroma is mild hops and malt, with some fruitness that I can’t identify. Taste is nicely balanced; primarily sweet with a hint of bitter that increases through the finish. Mouthfeel is full, more than I’m used to with a lager. Overall refreshing and solid but I wouldn’t get excited about drinking it. Don’t know why people are hating on this beer so much; perhaps I’m just not experienced enough with tasting and rating lagers.

Tis beer, folks is my go to. It’s good. And it’s predictable. I think they do a good job of consistency. Tis beer has a really nice copper color to it. It’s got a really nice persistent head that lasts until the end. Gives a pretty lacing in the glass. I could drink this every day.

This beer was really disappointing. For a local beer, and a craft brew at that, it was lacking in flavor and intensity. I would hope for a bigger taste in their variations on this classic style.

12 oz bottle pours a clear light copper color with decent off-white head and a little lacing. Aroma starts with caramel malts, then citrus hops. Taste is at first sweet, with a slightly bitter and nutty finish. Nothing outrageous here, but enjoyable none the less.

Poured a clear pale golden yellow. Since this was brought out to me by a waitress there was no noticeable head or lacing left by the time it got to my table. Has a nice wheat scent mixed with some floral and citrus hints. Has a slightly dry start with a crisp and clean finish. The finishing taste was a lot better than the beginning taste. I had completely forgot I had tried this beer before out of a bottle. I’m always one to say beer is better on tap but in this case I really didn’t think so.

Pretty standard amber lager flavor, smooth and light. Not a lot of flavor, just some malts and caramel, and some fizz going down the throat. May have tasted better to me because it was complementary at Allegro Hotel (Chicago) happy hour.
