If malt and hops are the two poles of brewing, this beer is the gently spinning sweet spot between them. First, you’ll notice the spicy aromas of Perle and Hallertau hops. Then - wipe the foam off the tip of your nose - dive into the toasty flavors of Vienna and Munich malts. Dynamo starts strong and finishes crisp and smooth. The balanced flavors, aromas, and even the coppery-red tones of this beer go great with everything. Fear no pairing. The best time to enjoy Dynamo is when you’re thirsty. Dynamo Copper Lager goes great with pizza, neighborhood block parties, spring rolls, first dates, football games, whiskey, tapas, the Sunday newspaper, late-night burritos, veggie omelets, business lunches, grilled mushrooms, pretzels, political debate, corn-on-the-cob, classic sci-fi flicks, mixed greens, campfires, salmon, billiards, cherry pie, rock shows, pumpernickel, salsa, grand openings, peanuts, sewing bees, extra sharp cheddar cheese, and holidays. Beautiful copper color. Caramel flavor with nutty notes and very restrained but noticeable hoppiness. Slightly roasted notes as well. Somewhat dull but pleasing finish.

From the description, it seems Metropolitan was going for an easy drinking everyday lager and that’s just what this is. Pours a copper color (imagine that!) with only a small white head. Grassy, herbal hops are the focus of the notes w/ some grainy notes playing a back up role. Flavor is more malt centric w/ a nice Vienna malt character. The hops take on a more floral aspect as well. Light bodied and unfortunately a bit undercarbonated which makes it feel a little sluggish on the tongue. This is a good beer and could be a great beer w/ some adjustment. I’d drink it every day.

12 oz bottle from msante79. Nose of grassy hops, and light caramel. Lightly hazy gold with a medium off white head. Flavor is peppery with light bitterness and a hint of caramelly sweetness.

12 oz bottle, someone brought over for the superbowl. Nothing special but at least its from Chicago. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. The nose is caramel malt and earthy hops. The taste pretty much follows suit. Medium bodied. An ok beer.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours a hazy light amber with a white head. Aroma of some faint toasty notes and light maltiness. Flavor is the same as aroma with a little hop personality. Mouth feel is light bodied. Overall, not all that bad...

bottle thanks to blutt59. light gold color with a white head. sweet malts on the nose with not much else. light on the palate flavors of malts and fruits.

Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - DEC 17, 2009
Pours a clear orange color with a big puffy white head that hangs around for a little bit. Aroma has a toasted note but is overly dominated by a vegetable soup aroma (quite off putting in my opinion). Flavor has a very strong roasted note, some lager yeasty notes but again, the vegetable soup note rears its head in the flavor as well. Light body with a very clean, smooth texture and very low carbonation. Overall a pretty disappointing brew. The flavors just never came out to work in a harmonious way. I don’t know if there was a flavor/aroma that was mixing to form the vegetable soup but it was really off putting for this brew. As a hometown brew, this fact only added to my disappointment.
