COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If malt and hops are the two poles of brewing, this beer is the gently spinning sweet spot between them. First, you’ll notice the spicy aromas of Perle and Hallertau hops. Then - wipe the foam off the tip of your nose - dive into the toasty flavors of Vienna and Munich malts. Dynamo starts strong and finishes crisp and smooth. The balanced flavors, aromas, and even the coppery-red tones of this beer go great with everything. Fear no pairing. The best time to enjoy Dynamo is when you’re thirsty. Dynamo Copper Lager goes great with pizza, neighborhood block parties, spring rolls, first dates, football games, whiskey, tapas, the Sunday newspaper, late-night burritos, veggie omelets, business lunches, grilled mushrooms, pretzels, political debate, corn-on-the-cob, classic sci-fi flicks, mixed greens, campfires, salmon, billiards, cherry pie, rock shows, pumpernickel, salsa, grand openings, peanuts, sewing bees, extra sharp cheddar cheese, and holidays. Pours a clear amber with a medium, bubbly white head. Malty aroma consists of caramel, nuts, bread, and earthy malts. It isn’t very potent though. The taste is bitter. Its exactly like the nose, only stronger. Caramel and earthy malts come through on top, and they are pretty heavy. Bread, nuts, and floral hints are found underneath. Caramel aftertaste. Medium in body, smooth in texture, and average in carbonation. Very easy to drink. As this one advertises, it feels like it will go well with just about any food pairing since nothing is too extreme here. Enjoyable.

On tap at Lunar Brewing for the Metropolitan tapping. Poured a clear, deep reddish/gold tone, with a slowly diminishing, white head and nice, clingy lacing. The nose had strong malt tones with a touch of toastiness and noble hop aroma. The flavor added to these a light hop bitterness. Lively carbonation. Finished clean and lightly dry. Very quaffable.

Bottle from a new Chicago brewer picked up at the Binny’s in Orland Park, Illinois: Nice pour, a clear orange body with a tall off-white head. The aroma was sweet, lightly toasted malts with a touch of caramel. Just a bit of earthy hops are added to the flavor to keep all that rich sweetness in check. Nicely brewed.

Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with guyinchicago. Pours a semi-clear light golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of golden and caramel multi-grain malt, some citrus, white bread and a touch of tropical fruit. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, some flowery hops, light citrus zest and a touch of popcorn. Finish is semi-dry with a short lived caramel and flowery hops aftertaste. Has a tad extra hop bitterness for most Vienna style beers I’ve head but still a decent micro craft beer.

G: Poured into a Pilsner Urquell pilsener glass. A: Pours a transparent gold, typical pilsner color. The head is typical of the style, although slightly reddish, and measures about a finger and a half. Large rush of carbonation. Decent lacing as it goes down. S: Grainy and slightly sweet. A little grassy. T: Slightly grainy and sweet, following up on the nose. Not much at all of a hop presence, though it is slightly bitter. M: Starts out smooth with mild carbonation. No alcohol bite. A very light mouthfeel. D: In a style that is quite drinkable, although not the best tasting variety that I’ve had. It’s nice to support a local up-and-comer, and I really like the idea of the lager-only brewery, so I’ll probably go with this one from time to time.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2009 Thanks to my girlfriend Molly for buying me a six pack by surprise, she’s so sweet. Pours light golden brown with a small white head. Aroma is very malty caramel and toast, really picking up those Vienna malts. Some subtle hops give it just a hint of spice. Flavor starts a very sweet caramel and lots of toast and a bit nutty. Finishes very smooth with very little hop presence or bitterness. Just a strong creamy malt character. Medium body and a moderate carbonation. Not a bad beer, easy drinking and refreshing. Reminds me a lot of Fat Tire, just a little hoppier.

Lightly hazed amber to tan colored liquid. Small, but stable, off-white head. Grains and lightly toasted malt aromas. A hint of grassy hops as well. Fairly thin in feel, but doesn’t seem watery. Actually has a lightly oily feel as it warms a bit. LIght sweet start with just a bit of caramel. Herbal hops in the middle dry things out. Finish and linger are earthy and dry. Lightly astringent in the linger. The late bite takes away from the overall smoothness, but still better than what I would have expected.
