COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flywheel Pilsner Bier features the spicy hop flavors and bitterness you expect in a Pilsner, but we amp up the malt bill for balance, mouth-feel, and because we’re inspired by German styles, not bossed around by them. Now, where is that liter-toting Fräulein anyway?

Pours a bright and very clear light golden color with a finger of white head with good retention. Aroma of sweet malt and cracker with floral hop presence. Taste is slightly sweet, grainy malt with a little minerality and a floral hop presence that becomes slightly spicy and bitter in the aftertaste. Finishes clean with a lingering bitterness and spiciness that doesn’t stay around too long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slightly grassy aroma. Light yellow color. Starts off plain, a bit sweet, and very grassy. Has a bitter finish, that I do not love.

12 ounce bottle from Valli Produce in Rockford, IL, labeled as Flywheel Pilsner but I believe it’s the same thing - same IBU and ABV and label design; probably just a new name, and the old Bright Lager doesn’t appear on Metropolitan’s website now. Anyway, poured into a Christoffel glass at a little below cellar temp this forms a huge, stable, smooth head that laces thickly as it fades atop the pale mostly clear gold body....grainy, lightly grassy and herbal (oregano) nose has just a hint of soap, unfortunately but this very nearly disappears with a few minutes resting...strong malt presence at the front, moderate sweetness, rather full for a pils, leading to a very bitter and mostly dry finish with a light pepperiness...carbonation average or perhaps a little on the high side. A really solid example overall and definitely among the better lighter local lagers that I can get.

Draft at the new Hax on Dearborn in Chi Town. Pours a clear golden. Grainy aroma. Tastes of sweet corn, then harsh grain. Grassy hops, a bit rough. A little bit better than a Stella or Bud.

Taste is slightly sweet, grainy malt with a little minerality and a floral hop presence that becomes slightly spicy and bitter in the aftertaste. Bottled. Pours a light orange color. Has a yeasty taste. Has a weird aftertaste for a lager. Not very good.

Hazy straw/gold color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, hay/grain, & some hops; Flavor of sweet malt, hops, grain, and caramel; Crisp finish; Decent lager.

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold color with off-white head and some lacing. Grass and straw aromas. Grass upfront with some slight honey notes followed by grapefruit hops and lemon-citrus notes. Mouthfeel is surprisingly chewy. Long, mouthcoating finish that's bitter but refreshingly pleasant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very good beer. Malty aroma. Likewise flavor with just enough bitterness. Excellent palate. Super easy drinking.
