From Nov 2006
Poured from 24oz bottle(room temp) a clear deep amber with a smallish head of foam that shrank to just a fine ring hugging the edge of the Michelob goblet that came with this gift pack.
The smell is very delicate. I can *just* sense some chocolate notes.
The taste is also, initially, pretty delicate. Not much of a chocolate flavour at all; maybe some slight bread from the semi sweet malt but that disappears rather quickly and is replaced by a pronounced flavour and warming from the alcohol. Pretty boring stuff, darn it. :^(
Bottom line: I'm glad I tried it but I won't buy it again. slowrunner77 (13368) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 16, 2014
"without a doubt, the best way to describe this beer is a liquified, alcoholic tootsie-roll. That description fits it to a tee. good-ish at first, but by the end of a bottle, i really didn’t want to finish." generallee08 (778) - New York, USA - MAY 23, 2014
The chocolate lager poured a dark amber color with a minimal light tan head. The aroma hits you as you open the bottle. The scent of dark cocoa powder, sweet malts, milk chocolate and malted milk balls fills the room and your nose. However the flavor is more like canned chocolate syrup that overpowers the beer. The body was about medium with a creamy/oily texture. The carbonation was light and the finish was long with some bitter notes. Over all I think they should have spent more time on flavor than the odd bottle and fancy packaging. jkwalking05 (4745) - Arlington, Texas, USA - MAY 5, 2010

( 24oz bottle 2007 vintage thanks to BMan1113VR) Pours clear brown with oily bubbles. Nose of milk chocolate. Taste of sweet chocolate. One dimensional but nice. Slightly artificial too. scooterbub (1082) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - JAN 1, 2010
24 ounce bottle from 2007. Pours a dark brown with a decent tan head. Taste is of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and alcohol. Has a lingering dry chocolate taste. Similar aroma. Thin and slick body. Easy to drink and rather enjoyable. Reminds me of the chocolate nips candies. SphinxTX (2878) - Mata Gorda, Texas, USA - DEC 1, 2009
Bottle thanks to bman1113vr. Pours a brownish red with a beige head. Aroma is some what malty, very faint chocolate. Flavor is exactly the same. Mouth feel is medium body with medium-high carbonation. Overall, wasn’t half bad but I feel that the master brewers of Michelob where just wasting their time to insult the better beer community with this....Come on now! Who else is really going to try this except us beer geeks? Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - NOV 16, 2009
Transparent brown pour with a thin head. Aroma is chocolate, caramel, and a weird spiciness. taste is thin with alcohol, chocolate, and butter. travita (5008) - Dallas, Texas, USA - NOV 15, 2009
Bottle thanks to Bman. The look is light brown in color, clear, and has a beige colored head. The smell is chocolate, malts, slight roast. The taste is chocolate and not that good.
