I’ve enjoyed trying the various styles Michelob has been producing, some are great examples of the given style, while others seem like Americanized impostors. This dunkel weisse was pleasantly enjoyable. It poured a light caramel color with an off-white creamy head. Clove yeast smell, thin and light body, with a lightly sweetened raisin taste. Great beer for the price point. MaBeer1972 (2163) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 31, 2010
Dunkelweizen is my favorite style, and I really like this one! Pours out a nice hazy reddish light brown with a good creamy tan head. Aroma is very good. Flavor is right up there with the better wheat beers I have had. Roasty malts, slight coffee. Good banana and clove. Not overly thin or too sweet. Finishes clean. I should have gotten the entire six pack instead of a single bottle. mothman (120) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 19, 2010
Poured into weizen glass.
Pours a creamy white head. Very fluffy. Leaves a good layer of lace. Color is a cloudy bronze.
The aroma is similar to a hefeweissen. Lots of banana and clove flavor. Flavor is quite similar, but a little bit nutty this time. The banana taste is stunning.
Mouthfeel is very chilled. Then it gets creamy and ends smooth.
Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. This was the first Michelob product that I actually planned on buying when I went to the store. It is an excellent beer and I really think it is underrated.

Michelob’s Aventinus knock-off. Not much going on, some prune and raisins on the nose very little flavor a bit of malt and wheat. Nothing special, just another big brewery trying to make something good. kwoeltje (2234) - Manchester, Missouri, USA - JUN 13, 2010
(bottle) hazy brown. Aroma of banana and clove. Flavor is yeast, banana, some clove. Body only moderate. Solid dunkel weisse - props to AB for trying out new styles.

This is better than expected A-B offering. It has a pleasing aroma. It pours well with nice coloration. It has clove and banana flavor notes. stephenj007 (124) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 25, 2010
Bottle pour, hazy, muted iced-tea in color. Nice head, foamy tan, remains throughout drinking. Full aromas of bananna, plum, roasted sweet malts, yeasty. Tastes were kinda all over from front to back....sweet and satisfying when first tasted....nice mouthfeel, satisfying...and then a sweet, mellow malt to almost sour raisin finish. Interesting, I like it.....great with a good, strong cheese or ribeye. theaudist (46) - Alabama, USA - MAY 18, 2010
The caramel and banana mix together perfectly and make for a very pleasant and easy drinking dunkel. Probably my favorite american macro. Served alongside an american burger and fries, this beer is quite probably what Busch meant to crown as his "King of Beers". SODAK14 (383) - Rapid City, South Dakota, USA - MAY 12, 2010
Poured beer had a great amber color and good head. Would I seek out this beer...no, would I have this beer again...yes. Not a bad beer overall just seems to be lacking a little for me. sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAY 2, 2010
copper, fizzy off-white head.
aroma, strong wheat nose, and plenty of cloves, yeasty and banana.
flavors, experiment went a little wrong here, just overly grainy/wheat, way too much spices/cloves. Keeps a malty, yeasty and banana profile that is hindered by too much wheat but it all crumbles very quickly. Picked up some possible vanilla sweetness.
