Bought as part of the mix pack. Poured from the 12-oz bottle a deep red color with a nice fluffy white head. The smell was of slightly toasted malt. Taste of caramel and toasted malt, with some sweetness in the finish. WakeandBake (549) - Greenville, Michigan, USA - NOV 20, 2008

Wow a serious dark amber pour, with an offwhite head. A hearty malt aroma with some floral hop notes.Spicy malty flavor with a dry hop finish, pretty straight forward beer with a good mouthfeel and medium body.A good drinker, and solid offering for the price.

Hey, my first real rating since the notorious RB blackout of early nov ’08! And its another Michelob, getting as numerous as Saranac! Friendly sweet malty bready olfactory. Nice looking embossed bottle and this aint even a twist off cap! Darker than an iced tea and it has an orange colored tint. Not a whole lotta carbonation. Personality is not offensive or in yer face. Laid back with gentleman manners. A little burnt bitterness begins to build on the back of the tongue. Has enough ale personality to let you know it is an ale and not another lager. Well behaved and civilized like its euro cousins. Finish is somewhat like a gentle burned wood background. Yep, AB is getting to know the envogue beer scene. jimmack34 (640) - Lancaster, Ohio, USA - NOV 1, 2008
Bottle. Pours deep red with a crsp light tan head. Smells of deep malt sweetness. Tastes sweet and malty, but very refreshing as its still a crisp refreshing beer that is drinkable whether at a party, barbeque, after a hot day at work, or with a good meal. I will drink this again. cdub939 (18) - Florida, USA - OCT 31, 2008

Bottle. Poured ruby red with a light brown head. Sweet caramel aroma but also a light alcohol background like a medical alcohol prep pad. Faint flavors of malts. Light body, sweet throughout, dry. Just ok. elihapa (1553) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - OCT 23, 2008
Michelob Irish Red 10/23/08 (bottle. Aroma is sweet, of cream, sugar, and malt. Flavor features malt, candy sugar, toffee, and a strange skunkiness. Not terrible, but definitely on par with my (low) expectations. scooterbub (1067) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - OCT 20, 2008
Bottle from a sampler pack. Pours a dark ruby red with a decent tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of roasted malt and caramel. A little sweet with a slightly dry finish. Aroma is of malt and caramel. Very easy to drink is pretty satisfying. For the price this is a pretty nice beer that is worth having again. sneagrams3 (2337) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - OCT 11, 2008
Tasted 10/9/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a reddish hue. Slight off-white head. Malty aromas with hints of caramel and cooked sugar. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Crisp effervescence and a solid bitterness. Bready and slightly spicy with hints of toffee. Decent hop presence. Nice bitterness rolling from spicy malts to the hop finish. Well played! superdude1979 (62) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - OCT 11, 2008
for a macro, this is a good beer. Much better than coor’s offering of killian’s. Smooth beer, not too heavy, bland aftertaste.
